Description
Corruption Core Boss

This mod is a small content mod centered on the titular boss, the Corruption Core. Included is a fully fleshed out, standalone boss encounter, complete with a special spawn method, Expert mode and FTW support/AI, comprehensive drops/loot pool, and Boss Checklist integration.

The Corruption Core can be accessed post-Mechs, via. killing a certain entity which will begin spawning in the Underground Corruption. Alternatively - for those who don't like underground arenas - it can be manually summoned (In the Corruption, or anywhere at night) with a spawn item crafted from a material dropped by its 'spawner', though it mildly enrages outside the Underground Corruption.

This mod has been programmed with multiplayer in mind, but be warned that it has not been thoroughly tested.

For more details on the boss and its drops, behavior, etc, it is highly recommended to check out the pinned discussions here on this Workshop page; these effectively act as a wiki page for the boss.

...And yes, for those of you who only play crimson, there is a crimson version of the boss.

@MathandMelons, personally I don't feel it's worth the effort. Making more re-colors of the boss is a relatively simple - albeit tedious - task, but I'd also have to make two entirely new gear sets, which would - ignoring the boss itself - essentially equate to doubling the amount of content (And just for one cross-mod at that).

@TheArcadian58, the 'crimson is cringe' thing in the description is really just part of something of a running joke in the mod since it's predominantly focused on the Corruption since the boss was designed around it thematically (The Crimson variant was an afterthought so both types of worlds can access the content, plus to add Crimson counterparts to the new loot).
It's not intended to be taken that seriously, and is meant to be treated as an instance of the Corruption vs. Crimson memes. Regardless, you make a good point IMO.
Personally I tend to play Corruption more because I like its aesthetic and music better, also the Musket and Dart Rifle are very good ranged weapons in the earlygame and early hardmode, respectively.

Here's my opinion on the Corruption v Crimson thing:
Corruption is better for beginners as it it easier but the loot is worse
Crimson is better for experienced players as it is harder but the loot is better
Neither of them are bad, I tend to just click the random button upon creating a world and let fate decide.
If you want to say that my opinion is wrong then that is your opinion and I respect it.

@PLMMJ, I dunno when/if I'll come back to this mod, but if I do that's should be an easy addition.

I am curious though, so you're finding the boss too easy on one difficulty and too hard on higher difficulties, or just the former?
I will say that yes, the boss is pretty easy to cheese with circular movement patterns. It's something of an inevitable flaw given the boss's movement style and the fact that its projectile attacks lack prediction.
Also, are you fighting the boss on the surface? The extra space makes the fight much more manageable (Probably too much so) in my experience.
Another thing to note is that the boss will definitely feel easy compared to most modded bosses, as the base/classic AI for this boss is meant to be more tame, like classic mode vanilla.

I've considered a rework for the future but it's very low priority compared to other plans I have since this is just a small thing I made to play around with boss AI.

Random idea I had, if the boss is too easy on one difficulty and too hard on another, why not add an HP multiplier option for it?
