Description
Introduction
This mod expands the selection of melee weapons used by the Vagar - a faction of reclusive space-faring smiths and engineers introduced by the Vaults of Vagar series.

Lore
While the Vagar are quite adept at making deadly ranged weapons, sometimes the situation calls for a more manual approach. This is why the warsmiths have designed an array of melee weapons, most of which share many of the traits of their ranged counterparts: large, overengineered and brutally effective. And while some of them, like axes and warcleavers, might appear mundane, others are rarely employed by anyone other than the Vagar themselves, like the swift vibroswords or the mighty pyrohammers.

FYI, I found the culprit: the Dual Wield mod apparently overwrites whatever VE Shields does to the shield compatibility. Deactivated it and now shields are usable with Vagar weapons :-).

@Korn: It's simply called Spacer Shields. But since the vanilla shields are having the same restrictions, I don't think it's anything on your end :-).

@Gerewoatle: Thanks for the suggestion, but I already tried that to no avail. Even activated every single melee weapon just to be sure, but it didn't change anything at all. Some melee weapons like the gladius work (but it always does) whereas others like the Vagar models just... don't :-(. By now I'm not entirely certain if this mod menu actually covers physical, medieval-style shields, or just shield belts.

@Sumatris: If you're using one of the shield mods with the Vanilla Expanded Framework as a prerequisite, you can manually select what weapons can be used with shields in the mod options.

May I ask why all but one Vagar melee weapon (the war cleaver) can't be wielded alongside a shield? The Chimera for instance very much looks like a one-handed weapon and should be shield-compatible. Same for the various non-chain axes. I'm currently playing around with space-tech shields and find it very sad that I can't use them properly with Vagar gear ^^.

@Nova Solarius The chainsword will stay because the idea of the original mod is to provide a set of basic tools for every category, which are expanded upon in the more specialized mods.
