K202 POLISH MINICOMPUTER. (CONTAINER)

Description
This mod adds K-202 minicomputer made and desinged in Poland by Jacek Karpiński. The unit is based off later production run desing. The unit works as a fancy container for export of electronics

K-202 - a small modular computer of universal use constructed by Eng. Jacek Karpinski,
one of the first microcomputers in Poland and the world. At its heart are 16-bit integrated circuits. The computer was designed to operate under the SOK system (Karpinski Operating System). The device used fixed and expandable memory. The device, designed in 1969, was capable of performing one million operations per second, and had a dizzying 8 MB of memory for the time, thanks to the use of paged addressing. The microcomputer took about a year to build from the design phase to a working device. The K-202 was a world-wide rarity, as no one at the time was producing machines with similar capabilities. The first PCs produced by IBM in the early 1980s had inferior performance to the K-202, even though they were built a dozen years later. The K-202 outperformed them in terms of speed, in addition to enabling multitasking, multi-accessibility and multiprocessing. In the early 1970s, the computer was presented at the Poznan International Fair. The microcomputer was produced from 1970 to 1973, and the total number of units produced amounted to about 30 units.

Fun facts:
Karpinski's design was first rejected because, to quote the design bureau, "If such a fast machine existed, the Americans would have had it long ago."

The later MERA-400 was based on the K-202

Karpinski's words when preforming at london trade show: "In London, at the Olympia exhibition, stood side by side: the British Modular One, the American machines and the K-202 - all 16-bit. And they all had 64 kilos of memory, and the K-202 - 8 mega! Everyone asked how I did it. I answered that I did it and, as you can see, it works."

First batch was made from Imported British ICs as Polish ICs were just starting to catch on.

The contract for production was signed by the English companies MB Metals and Data Loop, from the Polish side PHZ "Metronex" and Zjednoczenie MERA.
