Description
"Plant breeding: the science of maximizing plants' positive genetic traits to produce desirable effects." this is the new research project that will be added by this mod.

When growing crops or flowerss you will occasionally notice a special trait on a plant (shown in the infopanel, when clicked a plant). This trait is not fully active yet, but you can create some clippings from that plant (if it is at least 50% grown) that will be stored in your potting bench.

Potting bench: it currently has one use: plant breeding. The clippings of the plant you just gathered can now be used to create your own plant species that will have the given trait. You can even give that species a crazy new name. When breeding is finished, you will get a message and you can now start growing this new plant.
Note that you can again have a trait/genetic modification on that new plant to make it even more powerful (currently the number of modifications is unlimited)

SeedsPlease lite (& SeedsPleaseLiteRedux) compatibility: the potting bench will generate a few seeds of the newly created plant species upon completion.

Vanilla Extended Plants compatibility: there is a known problem when trying to breed carrots and green beans: they won't grow.

Traits:
Productive: increases yield by 150%
Beautiful: increases beauty by 2x
Booming: decreases days to grow by 80%
Flexible: decreases minimum fertility and fertility sensitivity by half
Thriving: increases minimum fertility and fertility sensitivity by 30%
Resilient: halves the amount of light needed to grow, plant does not die from darkness or toxic fallout and is never affected by blight
Winter: plant will continue to grow at 100% in mild winter temperatures (from 6 to 0 degrees C) and never dies because of cold (at least not until -999C)
Glowing: plant will give some light, similar to a glowstool

I would love the resiliient modifier of nutrifungus so that it doesnt die from light but also not grow.

@dBurva why decompile code when the code is public? (all my mods are opensource on github and links are in the description) I am also happy to accept pull requests of other mod developers, I have done this for plant genetics in the past.Thanks for your suggestions I will have a look at them when I have time

Hi again,

I tried to decompile code with dnSpy to adjust waiting time for breeding but wasn't sure will recompiled file work smooth as original so couldn't change it but if u have time could u add some of things that listed below to the mod.
* Favorite section for workbench. Because while I'm deleting old variations I don't want to delete final one.
* Sliders to adjust breeding time or edit traits because some of them kinda op.
* Also breeding time could be dependable on pawn plant skill.

When u delete a previous version of species while new one is breeding, they are not showing on plant tab. Also after that if u load previous save file that species haven't deleted still those speciemens not showing on plant tab. But reopening the game solves this problem.

Is the winter trait stackable? Meaning if you get winter 3 can you grow at -5 degrees? I don't know if that's possible with the base game's code...

For ppl wanting to do translation addons: I've now created translation keys for ever new label in the mod.
For ppl wanting to do new traits: feel free to join my discord, there are already people working on addons with new traits (or at least 1 person is :p) so you could share ideas or avoid doing duplicate stuff

Is there a way to make minimum fertility go up less then sensitvity, like just 27%? that way you can incremantally increase sensetifity while adding Thriving and Flexible to keep the minimum relativly level. (PS I realized that the Seeds:Please seeds issue is resolved already)
