The history of Movil Bus begins in the 1980's in the region of Amazonas, Peru. The Matos family, owner of the interprovincial land transportation company for passengers, began its operations with a three-wheeled van and trucks that traveled the Rodríguez de Mendoza - Chachapoyas route. However, the poor conditions of the roads in Amazonas to transport passengers caused the Matos family to make the decision to venture into Lima, Peru.

Established in the capital, they associate and form part of the Etramusa company, which traveled the Javier Prado - La Marina route with four units. At that same time, the Matos family tried to request a loan to be able to acquire new units, but no financial institution would grant them. Thus, he decides to go to Mr. Joaquín Ormeño, owner of the defunct company Ormeño , and he manages to sell him as a credit four of its units and two fully equipped buses with which it began its interprovincial transportation service under the name "Movil Tours", carrying out its inaugural route from Huaraz - Lima in 1988.

In 2013 it changed its name to "Movil Bus" and also expanded its transportation services, now offering tourist air trips under the name "Movil Air". Its main destination: fly over the Nazca lines.

It currently has agencies in almost the entire country and is one of the largest in all of Peru with its tourism, corporate, land transportation of cargo and passengers, and air travel services.
