Description
Expanded Biotech Style Genes(EBSG) is the step beyond More Biotech Style Genes. Where that series sought to expand ranges that already exist, this series seeks to add ranges that should exist. You get gene ranges that alter sleep fall rate, but why not a range for changing the rate it recovers? If you can have fire resistance genes, why not have genes to resist other types of damage like frostbite and acid?

This mod adds 28 new psychic genes for you to pick from. All of these psychic genes first require Innate Psylink, which provides a psylink for 1 metabolic efficiency instead of 1 cat murder or whatever. There are 3 non-range psychic genes called Innate Psychic Reader, Innate Psychic Harmonizer, and Psychic Insulation. Psychic Insulation prevents external psychic things from altering the pawn's moods and opinions, both positive and negative. The other 24 genes are split between 3 ranges: focus gain, neural heat max, and neural heat recovery. The negative genes reduce by 33% and 67%, while the positive ones increase by 125%, 150%, 175%, 200%, 225%, and 250%.

Note about Psychic Insulation - By default Psychic Insulation removes the opinion and mood granted by a Psychic Bond, but these can be disabled in the Vanilla Expanded Framework Toggleable Patches menu.

Note about the innate implants - I know that there is a bug where you can remove the implant, and said implant won't disappear if the original pawn loses the innate implant gene. This is just a bug related to the code behind where it only checks the pawn itself for the implant. While I was not part of the creation process, I assume it was set up this way to avoid potential processing issues in late game.

Included in Expanded Biotech Style Genes - All in One.

Starting in 1.5 this will require the EBSG Framework to appear and be used. Doing it this way allows me to put the settings into the EBSG Framework mod settings instead of making you search through the VEF one, though it may require you redo any settings you had when it was in the VEF menu.

This change shouldn't affect the 1.4 version of genes, and the 1.4 version of the mod still requires the vanilla expanded framework, while the 1.5 version instead requires the EBSG Framework.

Innate psylink is a genius idea! Thank you for this wonderful mod!
Just imagine how powerful it will be if you have a kill-focused delta weapon and heat-recovery gene.

Thanks for the answer, I'll see how it works out.

As far as I know, VPE uses the standard pslink hediff, so you should still be able to use it as normal. When I tested it I was able to start paths without issues. Let me know if you have any issues.

Question - I hope I'm not being blind and missed this in the description, but how does the Innate Psylink specifically interact with Vanilla Psycasts Expanded?
