The L4D1 survivors spent a while up on the bridge to wait for the horde to disperse, and then after the L4D2 survivors passed through, they still had to wait for Louis to recover from his leg injury before being able to sail off.
i don't think it would've taken hours for the horde to dissipate enough for zoey, louis, and francis to get on the boat
and i think they would have been able to get over it in that amount of time considering that i feel like they already got over bill's sacrifice at the end of the comic
