Overview

What does this mod do ?
Better Software Development help automate aspects of your software production.
Automatically promote from the design phase when the desired iterations have been complete.
Promote from alpha when all dev work is complete.
And release software automatically when target bugs are complete, and if it has one, its target date has been met. Don't miss those deadlines !
Support tasks will be closed when all fixable bugs are captured, fixed and released.
Updates will auto release when the update is complete, bugs are fixed and a minimum number of months has passed.

Check out the options for configuration options.

Technical notes
Lower difficulties have a buff to quality design, up to 40%. This is taken into account on the design phase, so you may see less design iterations than you have configured. The buff is applied to the existing design progress then compared to your target design iterations.

What's next?
For now, this mod is a fairly small QOL mod, but over time I intend to add more features. Watch this space for what they may be.

Increase the software selection

New role: Tester
A tester would be involved during alpha and beta, removing some bugs so that they are fixed during alpha, and speeding up the beta phase. Would be balanced to be between a 2:1 and 3:1 ration of devs:testers. Would have different skills such as:
- Automation - Affects how fast bugs are found
- TBC

Default options are now set correctly on first mod load

Products with release dates will release on the correct day of multi month games.
Add on products that still have their parent in development will not attempt to auto release.

Can you add this as a hint text on that checkbox? Else its quite unclear.

I've done some testing but cant find any issues. If it happens again please copy the top couple sections of the error as that should tell me where the issue is.

Hello. first of all thanks a lot for your efforts for such time saving mod. after the new update to the game I started getting an error code and the mod gets unloaded and can't use it. is it a new save thing or there's an update coming to fix it? thanks.

No, there is a option at the start of the game, that changes with difficulty. You can manually change it if you look in the new games custom options. It applies a boost to the quality of you software, from 0% to 40% i believe. This is taken into account to save time. The design phase sets the max quality but you do still need to have good employees on both design and dev, as well as clear most bugs to get an outstanding rating.

Why would the difficulty of the game matter for this option though? If i play on medium as opposed to a higher difficulty shouldn't the 4th iteration always complete?
