DayZ Controls

This guide is for new players to DayZ who don't know the controls very well. This is the place to go when you don't know how to move your player. Don't forget to rate!

Basic Controls

Press Enter to go into 3rd person mode Press Enter again to go into 1st person mode Press W to move forward Press D to strafe right Press A to strafe left Press S to move back

Inventory

Press TAB to open inventory Hover your mouse over an item to see info Right click to see available actions to do with the item Click and drag to spin your character To pick something up drag an item from the vicinity to your backpack Drag an item to your hands to equip it. Press a number to automatically equip an item.

Interaction

Press F to open a door Press F to close door When equipped press F to start a certain action. Press F to cancel an action. Press F to pick up an item.

Advanced Movements

Press W and SHIFT to sprint Sprint and press V to jump over a fence Press V to slowly go over fence. Press Z to go prone Press X to crouch Press C to stand up again

Hand Signals

Press F1 to wave Press F2 to surrender Press F3 to sit down Press F4 to flip a zombie off Press F5 to clap Press F6 to point

Looking

Press ALT to look behind you Right Click to zoom in Press the minus key to zoom out

Fighting

Press Spacebar to bring up fighting stance Left click to attack

Multiplayer

Press P to bring up player list Press Caps Lock to enable voice, Pressing Caps Lock 2 times will lock voice You will know if your voice is on with a mic in the bottom left corner

with my left had I have to use "end" and "DELETE" to turn left and right?

You can kill yourself pressing F11 with a loaded gun or one handed sharp object
