NG (Lie Run)

For the initial pass of the areas and chapters below, I will be listing collectibles under the assumption that it is a New Game/Lie playthrough. This means that certain points like The Atoned will not be considered a boss fight just yet (although I'll make a note of it as it appears) and will instead be listed in the NG+ section at the bottom of the guide. Additionally, I'll mostly write down the Lie-playthrough answers for Truth/Lie scenarios. I'll reiterate the Truth-playthrough answers in the NG+ section.

Chapter 1

• (Letter) Frozen Man’s Letter - Inside the building with ladders and on top of a couch covered by a White sheet.

• (Gestures 4/17) Remembrance - Obtained after reading the Frozen Man's Letter completely.

• (Amulets) Life Amulet - Inside a chest guarded by an Elite Puppet found shortly after exiting the building with the ladders and grenadiers.

Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard Stargazer (2nd Stargazer)

• (Weapons 4/29) Electric Coil Stick Head and Handle - Purchase from the Merchant in the room next to the Stargazer.

• (Book): Venigni’s Krat Landmark Guide II - Climb the nearby ladder on the rooftops.

Hotel Krat (CH2)

• (Legion Arm) Fulminis - Speak to Eugénie after defeating the boss.

Krat City Hall Courtyard

• (Recollection) Faded Whistle - On a lit bench just before the building entrance. With this item in hand, you can now complete the Side Quest below.

• (Note) Venigni’s Guide - Inside the building ahead of the Stargazer (near the entrance).

• (Side Quests 2/9) Toma Misses Murphy - Climb down any of the ladders in the area just after the 2nd Stargazer. Look for a window you can interact with to find Toma. Check your collectible inventory and "use" the Faded Whistle while nearby Toma. Talk to him again to complete the quest.

• (Photo) Miracle Cure - After speaking to Geppetto. You'll be able to unlock the door to the next area. After unlocking the door, look immediately to your right.

• Trinity Key - Turn right before the bridge and pick up the phone. Answer: Human.

Chapter 3 (1/2)

Workshop Union Entrance (1/2)

• (Weapons 6/29) Salamander Dagger Blade and Handle - Take the stairs near the Stargazer and enter the room on your left. Drop down the hole and check the safe.

• (Upgrade Materials 7/107) Hidden Moonstone - Progress through the factory from the previous loot area until you see the pathway below. The wooden footing along your path will break causing you to fall so hug left to avoid that and loot the Hidden Moonstone first. Afterward, take the shortcut down for the next bit of loot.

• (Equipment 3/17) Belford Shock Cartridge - After falling in from the wooden footing, clear the immediate area of the puppets and find a chest nearby.

• (Note) Factory Manager's Report - Facing the previous chest, make your way through the factory and keep an eye on your right for this note.

• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - Dropped by a Shield Elite Puppet.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - Take the stairs after defeating the Elite Puppet and it will appear.
  • (Handle Upgrade Material) Stat Crank - Dropped by the Dimensional Butterfly. The Stat Crank it drops will vary depending on either your stats/starting weapon (unconfirmed). I chose the Greatsword so it gave me a Motivity Crank.

Workshop Union Culvert

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - From the Culvert Stargazer, head into the red pipe to find a corruption pool. Take your time clearing the enemies leading up to the end of this area because it can get dangerous trying to defeat the butterfly while wading in corruption and avoiding enemies if left unattended. The Dimensional Butterfly will spawn as you approach the end of the area.
  • (Upgrade Materials 8/107) Hidden Moonstone - Dropped by the Dimensional Butterfly.
• (Upgrade Materials 9/107) Hidden Moonstone - Facing where the Dimensional Butterfly spawned, it will be on your right-hand side as you approach the end of the area.

• (Weapons 7/29) Fire Axe Blade and Handle - Back at the Stargazer, take the stairs this time to reach a long hallway. This hallway will have a Flaming Meatball rolling down periodically. Make your way to the very end to find a chest on your left-hand side.

• (Book) Ripped Venigni’s Krat Landmark Guide III - On your way to the previous chest, you'll have noticed 2 entrances on your right. The closest entrance from the chest will have an enemy waiting to ambush you. Enter through this hallway and you'll spot a pair of NPCs—Black Cat and Red Fox. Buy the Book from them for 500 Ergo.

• (Note) Doctor’s Confessions - Enter the room in the opposite direction of the same area to find a staircase leading up to a note.

• (Newspaper) Have you seen this eccentric?! - Below the previous note is a doorway leading to another staircase and another note.

• (Boss 4/25) Survivor - In the same general area as the 2 previous notes there will be a hatch and a ladder leading down. Get ready for a small battle as you head down and approach the Survivor.
  Dropped by the Survivor:
  • (Outfits 3/14) Survivor’s Hunting Apparel
    
  • (Accessories 2/8) Survivor’s Mask
    
  • (Gestures 5/17) Stalker’s Promise
• (Upgrade Materials 10/107) Hidden Moonstone - Exit the door near the previous boss and make a left. Make a right on the first turn and you'll find a Hidden Moonstone all the way at the end of that path.

• Trinity Sanctum Door - Return to the Black Cat and Red Fox and enter the passage beyond them. Take a right and a left to find a green door which is unlocked by the Trinity Key you got from the Telephone Trivia in the previous chapter.
  • (Outfits 4/14) Blue Blood’s Tailcoat - Inside the safe in the Trinity Sanctum.
    
  • Quartz - Also inside the safe in the Trinity Sanctum.
• (Amulets) Swordsmanship Master’s Amulet - Dropped by the Furnace Elite Puppet. Backtrack to where you initially turned right and then proceed through the Red Pipe instead. As you get closer, the Elite Puppet will burst through a door at the end of this path.

Workshop Union Entrance (2/2)

This part becomes safer/more accessible after you crank the valves at 2 locations:

1. Beyond where the Furnace Elite Puppet busted through.
   
2. Near the Black Cat and Red Fox.

Collectibles:

• (Boss 5/25) Puppet of the Future - Hard to miss. This is the giant robot roaming around the area that previously had a pool of corruption.
  Dropped by the Puppet of the Future:
  • Quartz
• (Weapons 8/29) Booster Glaive Blade and Handle - Inside a very visible chest in the same area where you fought the boss.

• (Upgrade Materials 11/107) Hidden Moonstone - Tucked to the side in the same boss area.

Chapter 3 (2/2)

Venigni Works Control Room

• (Upgrade Materials 12/107) Hidden Moonstone - Upon entering the area, on your right will be a Hidden Moonstone just behind a puppet.

• (Gestures 6/17) Fear - Opposite the Moonstone are stairs leading up to the Stargazer. Venigni will be nearby. Talk to him to get the Gesture and start the quest below.
  
• (Side Quests 3/9) Save Pulcinella - Talk to Venigni.

• (Equipment 4/17) Workshop Union Standard Radiation Converter - Dropped by the Furnace Elite Puppet on the ground level. I suggest taking out the Grenadier puppets first beforehand.

• (Handle Upgrade Material) Technique Crank - Head to the Northwest corner by way of the iron beams.

• (Book) Descartes’s Note - Head to the Northeast corner by way of the iron beams.

• (Boss 6/25) King’s Flame, Fuoco
  Dropped by the Puppet of the Future:
  • (Activate Function) High-Powered Flame Amplifier
    
  • (Grindstone Augmentation) Flame Grindstone
• (Recollection) Broken Butler Puppet - Against a wall in the same area you fought Fuoco.

Hotel Krat (CH3)

Talk to Venigni at the hotel. He'll be stationed across from Eugénie.

• (Gestures 7/17) Swagger - Keep talking to Venigni until he has no new dialogue.

• (Legion Arm) Flamberge - After talking to Venigni, you'll now have access to the Venigni Craft Machine. Use it to create the Flambesrge Legion Arm. You should have gotten the necessary material from the last boss.

Center of Venigni Works

• (Weapons 9/29) Big Pipe Wrench Head and Handle - Once you reach a spacious mining cavern area, head up the ladder(s) to find a chest.

• (Upgrade Materials 13/107) Hidden Moonstone - Beside an explosive barrel and near 2 puppets.

• (Upgrade Materials 14/107) Dark moon Moonstone of the Covenant - On the ground level below the first chest in this area, there is a breakable wooden wall that will get destroyed by a puppet if you approach it. Behind it is the upgrade material.

• (Amulets) Carrier's Amulet - Dropped by the Furnace Elite Puppet.

Chapter 4 (1/2)

Moonlight Town

• 2x (Dimensional Butterfly) - As you approach a bridge, it will collapse. If you don't want to take the fall, enter the building on your left to descend down the valley gradually. Past some explosive barrels, 2 Dimensional Butterflies (DB) will spawn.
  • (Upgrade Materials 15/107) Crescent Moonstone - Dropped by the DB (left)
    
  • (Upgrade Materials 16/107) Crescent Moonstone - Dropped by the DB (right)
• (Book) Moonlight Town Guide - Deeper into the valley and in front of a gravestone.

• (Equipment 5/17) Workshop Union Standard Corrosion Resistance Converter - Climb up from the valley and continue on to find an open building on your left. As you enter you'll be locked inside with several small fry enemies. A chest will be on your left.

• Cable Railway Key - Given by The Atoned after you lie and "Give the Stalker's Greeting" (for your NG/Lie playthrough). Take note of this boss for your NG+ run.

Path of Misery

• (Upgrade Materials 17/107) Hidden Moonstone - Inside a small broken-down structure on your right after defeating a new type of enemy.

• (Note) Woman’s Prayer - Along your path, in front of a statue, as you enter a Mausoleum.

• - Take the back path of the Mausoleum on the right-hand side of the statue. At the end of this path, there will be a friendly NPC—Giangio, and a statue with a chest behind it.

• (Book) Guillaume’s Ballad - Talk to Giangio.
  • (New Function) Cube - Obtained after talking to Giangio a second time.
    
  • (Wishtone) Recovery Wishstone - Obtained after talking to Giangio a second time.

St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel

• (Note) Stained Choir Sheet Music - Just behind the chapel entrance is an organ. Check the stool in front of it for the note.

• (Upgrade Materials 18/107) Hidden Moonstone - After spotting the first ranged Demonic Puppet, climb the ladder behind it. Break some crates on your immediate left to reveal a hole. Jump down to find the Moonstone.

• Note: On the right (up the slope) of the Electrified Boulder trap is a ladder leading to a Trinity Sanctum. We'll come back to this area later.

• (Upgrade Materials 19/107) Crescent Moonstone - Continuing past the boulder trap, you'll reach an area with 2 wooden gears turning. After jumping past the 1st gear, interact with the Brazier to remove the pool of Decay below (this is for another treasure in the near future).
  Jump past the 2nd gear and go up a ladder on your left to find the Moonstone.

• (Legion Arm Crafting Material) Legion Plug - Opposite from the ladder is a lever. Activate it to reverse the elevator mechanism just beside it. Jump down the wooden platforms nearby to reach an alcove with 2 puppets and a chest behind them.

• (Weapons 10/29) Blind Man’s Double Spear Blade and Handle - Now that the elevator is going up, backtrack to the 2nd gear. Hop on the upward-spinning gear and ride it until you can drop on a platform to your right. There will be a chest at the end of this path.

• (Crafted Cryptic Vessel) - Make your way down to where the pool of Decay used to be to find a passage leading down. You'll find another chest at the end of this path.

• Quartz - Take the elevator back up to the lever. Go to the end of this area to open a door that leads to a mini-boss battle. This enemy switches its right arm between a Shield and a Mace form. I found it easier to dodge/block it when you play up close with the newly acquired Double Spear/Fork weapon. It's especially easier to get behind it when it uses the Shield. It will drop a Quartz upon defeat.

• (Shop Expansion) Krat Supply Box - In the small hallway immediately after this area, you'll spot a chest. Give this item to Polendina to expand the shop selection. Thankfully there's a Stargazer just up ahead so we'll hotel in a few moments.

Hotel Krat (CH4)

• (Legion Arm) Your Choice - Craft at the Venigni Craft Machine using the Legion Plug

• New Shop Items - Turn in the Krat Supply Box to Polendina and purchase these items:
  • (Upgrade Materials 20/107) Hidden Moonstone

  • Bright Red Apple - You can buy this later as you won't be using it right away.
• Talk to Venigni twice and get him to help with the Crafted Cryptic Vessel. Doing so will hint you to "Strike the puppet hanging from the Alchemist Bridge on Elysion Boulevard".

Alchemist Bridge

• As mentioned above the Crafted Cryptic Vessel will reveal the hint to "Strike the puppet hanging from the Alchemist Bridge on Elysion Boulevard".
  
• The closest Stargazer to this location is Krat City Hall.
  
• Use a throwable item such as the Saw Blade to strike the puppet. I tried using the Puppet String Legion Arm and it doesn't seem to work.

• (Letter) Letter with the Refuge's Address - Striking the puppet will reward you with this note. Upon further inspection, this letter automatically comes with a key to unit 221b in Elysion Boulevard.
  
• The closest Stargazer to this location is Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard Stargazer.
  
• Leave the house and it will be the first house to your right—just before the first set of enemies. You'll find a safe with some loot inside 221b.

Chapter 4 (2/2)

St. Frangelico Cathedral Library

• (Side Quests 4/9) Sister Cecile and the Archbishop’s Holy Mark - Sister Cecile is in the room West of the Stargazer. The quest item further ahead so I'll note it down accordingly.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - In the first room featuring falling drops of Decay, there will be several holes leading to a lower floor. The Dimensional Butterfly will spawn in the middle of that room. It may disappear initially before you finish it off, but rest assured it's just in another corner of the room. Pay attention to the Monad's Lamp hanging from your waist. It will glow red if you are heading in the right direction.
  • (Handle Upgrade Material) Advance Crank - Dropped by the Dimensional Butterfly
• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - Inside a chest in the same area as the Dimensional Butterfly.

• (Upgrade Materials 22/107) Crescent Moonstone - Return to the main route by way of a ladder and keep moving through a linear path until you see the Moonstone on the ground beside a wooden table.

• (Book) Archbishop’s Diary - In the room with an elevator, there's another staircase leading up. It will be in plain sight as you reach the end of this linear path. Be careful of an enemy ambush along the way although the attack will most likely miss if you ascend the stairs slowly.

• (Recollection) Archbishop’s Holy Mark - Enter the room next to the book. It will be on the ground. Return this to Sister Cecile. Let me know in the comments if you have any idea what happens if you return it to her after defeating the boss instead.

• (Equipment 6/17) Workshop Union Strengthening Frame - Check the safe in the same room.

• (Special NPC) Alidoro - Ride up the elevator and you'll find directly in front. Send him to Venigni Works (Lie) if you are on NG/your Lie playthrough. You can also buy some weapons from him right now if you wish. DO NOT WASTE the Rare Ergo on Amulets or you'll miss out on the Special Weapon Collector achievement.
  • (Special Weapons 1/11) Seven-Coil Spring Sword (Parade Leader’s Ergo)
    
  • (Special Weapons 2/11) Etiquette (Broken Hero’s Ergo)

• (Record) Divine Service - Return to where Sister Cecile used to be to find it on the ground.

• (Letter) Cecile’s Written Confession - Same spot as above.
  
• (Gestures 8/17) Pray - Read all pages of the Letter above.

St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel

• "You feel warmth." - With the new gesture above, you can go to the lady statue just before the chapel Stargazer (backtrack across the bridge). If you interact with it, the statue will say "Pray, you who are exhausted and injured." I think this adds to your "humanity", but if anyone else knows the significance of this act, then please let me know in the comments section.

Chapter 5 (1/2)

Hotel Krat (CH5)

• With Andreus defeated and his Rare Ergo obtained, let's buy the next Special Weapon. Before we can do that, we have to find Alidoro again. Since we lied to him, he'll be whimpering in a room at the Workshop Union Entrance. From the Stargazer, head up the stairs and enter the first room on your left to find him. Lie to him again if on NG/your Lie playthrough by picking Elysion Boulevard. Regardless, he'll end up at Hotel Krat which is where we want him for easy access.

• Now that he's at the hotel, you can find him on Antonia's right-hand side. Go ahead and buy another special weapon from him with Andreus' Rare Ergo.
  • (Special Weapons 4/11) Trident of the Covenant (Twisted Angel’s Ergo)
    
  • Talk to Eugénie a couple of times if you want some lore about her family and Alidoro.
• Ergo Wavelength Decoder - Talk to Venigni to learn about his theory regarding the puppet rampage and receive something that sounds important.

Path of the Pilgrim

• (Recollection) Smiling Bunny Mark

• (Upgrade Materials 23/107) Hidden Moonstone

• (Weapons 11/29) Acidic Crystal Spear Blade and Handle - Straight ahead and a bit to the right is a path leading to a chest. Be careful of 2 bear traps along this narrow path.

• (Upgrade Materials 24/107) Hidden Moonstone - Left side of the lake.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - In the middle of the lake.
  • (Upgrade Materials 25/107) Dark moon Moonstone of the Covenant - Dropped by the Dimensional Butterfly.
• (Photo) Wanted: Black Rabbit Brotherhood - Go left after entering the village. It'll be on top of a wooden beam.

• (Key) Slum Shack Key - Approach the wooden gate just below and an Elite Puppet will burst through. It will drop the Slum Shack Key on defeat.

• Equipment (7/17) Belford Superior Corrosion Resistance Converter - Open the shack door opposite the wooden gate to find a chest inside.

• (Note) Scribble of Slum Resident - Exit the shack and turn left to find a doorway and a ladder. Take the ladder and fall into a room if you want a Fire Abrasive as well. Otherwise, just walk through the door and take the elevator up. The note is in plain sight beside a door at the top of the elevator.

• (Upgrade Materials 26/107) Dark moon Moonstone of the Covenant - Take the elevator to find an exit mid-way through the ascent/descent.

• (Document) Sweepers Branch Office Newspaper Archives - Enter the gate after defeating the Mutated/Demonic Bear. Take a right before the stairs to find the document.

Chapter 5 (2/2)

Malum District

• (Upgrade Materials 27/107) Crescent Moonstone - Along the main path you'll see some scaffolding on your right. Climb the ladder to get the Moonstone.

• (Equipment 8/17) Arch Break Cartridge - In the first house you can enter, there will be a wooden floor that will collapse. Follow the path underneath to find a chest.

• (Picture) Have a taste of La Bleiweis, the greatest wine in the world! - At the foot of a corpse next to the staircase.

• (Handle Upgrade Material) Motivity Crank - Along the main path, after climbing some stairs but just before the town square.

• (Amulets) Patience Amulet - Dropped by the Elite Puppet roaming the town square.

• Quartz - Inside a shed just in front of the bonfire.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - Facing the bonfire from the direction you entered the town square, take the right path to find a ladder on your left-hand side. A Dimensional Butterfly will spawn right as you step onto the rooftops.
  • (Handle Upgrade Material) Balance Crank - Dropped by the Dimensional Butterfly.
• (Weapons 12/29) Bone-Cutting Saw Blade and Handle - While on the rooftops, face the direction of the building you entered the town square from to find a chest.

• (Upgrade Materials 28/107) Hidden Moonstone - Facing away from the previous chest, check your right-hand side to find a wooden ledge with the Moonstone on it. Be careful of an ambush from the window.

• Trinity Key - Head back to the same path leading to the ladder, only this time continue left instead of going up. Follow the linear path up another ladder to spot a telephone. Answer: Candle.

• (Upgrade Materials 29/107) Hidden Moonstone - From the telephone room, drop down to the new area and a Moonstone will be in plain sight just before some stairs.

• (Upgrade Materials 30/107) Crescent Moonstone - Take the path going left once you see a lady sitting on a ledge. A dog will bust through a metal gate. Head inside the area it busted out from to find a Moonstone.

• (Photo) Monad Charity House Guide - At the Red Lobster Inn, you can find this picture on top of a bloodstained couch cover in the vicinity of a shortcut door.

• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - Opposite the couch is a ladder concealed by some barrels. On top, you'll find a chest.

• (Weapons 13/29) Bramble Curved Sword Blade and Handle - Sold by the merchant near the previous chest.

• (Record) Someday - Also sold by the merchant.

• Quartz - In the sewers, head straight once you reach a fork. Drop down and defeat a few trash mobs and an Elite Puppet to find a chest at the end.

• (Upgrade Materials 33/107) Crescent Moonstone - Return to the fork and take the other path to eventually exit back to the street level. The Moonstone is near a shortcut door leading to the previous Stargazer after defeating some Chimney Sweeper Puppets.

• (Equipment 9/17) Arch Heavyweight Frame - Further along after you see the gate of fire again (from the other side), you'll see a wooden door past the bridge. A hunter puppet will burst out of that door and another one will surprise you from the corner. After defeating those puppets and the Baby Puppets inside, check the safe within the house.

• (Recollection) Wedding Ring - Exit the previous house with the safe and go down the stairs on your right. Check your right-hand side as you reach the bottom to find this quest item for (JULIAN.
  Return to Julian and if you want to lie, select "I saw the message she left, saying she loves you". Otherwise, pick the other option. You'll keep the ring if you lie.

Chapter 6 (2/2)

Estella Opera House Entrance

Before you continue, go buy the Bright Red Apple from Polendina for 1,000 Ergo. You should have it already unlocked in the shop for expanding the selection using the Krat Supply Box. It's essential for an upcoming NPC encounter and a collectible Record.

• (Upgrade Materials 35/107) Dark moon Moonstone of the Covenant - Upon entering, take the right staircase. After the first set of Stringed Puppets, check the nearby corner.

• (Equipment 10/17) Belford Disruption Cartridge - From the previous item, head up another set of stairs and go deeper into this floor to find a swinging flaming chandelier. Look to your right to find a chest.

• (Side Quests 7/9) Adelina the Actress - Opposite the previous chest, you can enter a room to find Adelina. She'll ask for an apple. Give the apple you purchased from Polendina to her. This step is important before defeating the next boss so you can get a record later on.

• (Amulets) Technique Amulet - Head back to the main staircase and take the left one this time around. Follow this path until you reach a long hallway with a red carpet. At the end of this hallway, head down the stairs, and on your left, you'll find an Elite Puppet patrolling a room and the nearby hallway. As you head towards it, look to your left-hand side to find a dark passage leading to a chest.

• (Weapons 15/29) Exploding Pickaxe Blade and Handle - Heading back to the hallway patrolled by the Elite Puppet, there is a room with a safe inside. Defeat the Elite Puppet and check the safe.

• (Upgrade Materials 36/107) Crescent Moonstone - Exit the safe room and to your right will be an electrified door. Approach it and head left up the stairs to find the Moonstone.

• Trinity Sanctum Door - From the previous Moonstone, keep heading up to find a shortcut door on your left and the ground floor of the flaming chandelier room. After unlocking the shortcut, jump down the pit under the chandelier to find a Trinity Sanctum door. Remember this for later.

• (Shop Expansion) Incredible Venigni Collection - After jumping down, find a dark passage leading out of the pit. As you exit the passage, to your right will be another safe room ahead and another shortcut door just beside it. Inside the safe is an item to expand Pulcinella's shop.

• (Book) Notes from an Experiment - From the previous item, head to the opposite end of the hallway to find a set of stairs on your left. Head up and defeat the Elite Puppet blocking your way. At the top of these stairs is another long hallway with a red carpet. Make your way through the puppets to find a room. The book will be on your right-hand side.

• (Jeweled Cryptic Vessel) - After picking up the previous item. Look behind you to find a ladder leading to a chest. Same deal as the previous cryptic vessel. We'll bring this to Venigni later.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - Take the ladder leading down and follow the short path it takes you on. As soon as you encounter 2 Hunter Puppets, the Dimensional Butterfly will spawn. Be careful as this is a tight area to fight in. You should have enough time to kill both puppets before the DB disappears. Note that there's a shortcut to the courtyard and Stargazer nearby.

Regardless, I don't believe this affects the ending much if at all. Compared with the choice above, there's no red timer symbol. I'd appreciate any verification regarding this interaction.

Chapter 7 (1/3)

Lorenzini Arcade

• (Key) Lorenzini Arcade 1st Floor Key - When you first enter the arcade, there are 2 paths you can take—straight ahead or to your right. Go straight ahead and you'll find a key beside a corpse. Be careful of the Elite Carcass(?) guarding this area.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - With the key in hand, take the other path this time and unlock the door ahead. Proceed until you see a large hole in the ground. Take a left and follow this path until you see another hole. Take the side path to get past that hole and on your right will be a room with White child-sized puppets. In the middle of this room a golden Dimensional Butterfly will spawn.

• (Book) Scandal! V, the Tragedy Behind the Flamboyance - Follow the hallway all the way to the end to find a room entrance to your left. Deeper into this room is a 3-way fork (with some greenery) and what looks like a public bathroom. At the end of that bathroom, you'll find the book.

• (Key) Arcade Underground Passage Key - Head back to the fork and to your right is a fountain (the door nearby is a shortcut to the Stargazer) and a merchant. On the fountain, you'll find the key.

• (Side Quests 8/9) Wipe out the Mongrels - Head back up to where the butterfly spawned and this time around, take the other ladder going up. Once you enter the Steel Beam area, check your immediate left for a ladder going down. Follow this path to find Belle and accept her quest. She'll go to the hotel after you defeat the boss.

• (Newspaper) Resurrection! Champion Victor has returned! - Follow the path deeper into the Steel Beam area to re-enter the gallery. Inside the room just after the bridge shortcut, the item will be in plain sight behind a few crates.

• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - Facing the gate that's being breached by a Drill Puppet, head down the stairs and check your left to find a chest. The inactive Drill Puppet beside it will wake up and attack.

• (Note) King of Riddles’ Hint + Telephone Riddle - Continue through the breached gate and follow the path to find a Telephone Riddle. Answer: Egg. Answering correctly will give you the note—a clue leading you closer to a Trinity Key. The clue states "Behold the fingertips of the cold woman at the Grand Exhibition!"

• Trinity Key - Continuing along the only path available, you'll find a new Machine Gun Puppet and some stairs leading down. As soon as you reach the bottom of the stairs, look to your right and mirror the 2 White statues by moving the one on the right. Doing so will solve the puzzle and reveal the desired key.

• (Upgrade Materials 48/107) Crescent Moonstone - Inside a cable car. Be careful of the 3 Machine Gun Puppets in the vicinity.

• (Legion Arm Crafting Material) Legion Plug - Enter through the small doorway diagonal to the cable car. Defeat the enemy at the top and you'll find a chest on your left.

• (Note) Order of Kroud Report - In the same area; On a ledge overlooking the cable car.

Chapter 8 (1/2)

Barren Swamp Entrance

• (Equipment 13/17) Belford Superior Insulation Converter - Inside a chest visible along the main path.

• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - Defeat the Mad Clown Elite Puppet that appears after the flaming meatball rolls down.

• (Upgrade Materials 50/107) Half Moonstone - When you're about to cross your first wooden bridge to reach the tower, walk slowly so it doesn't break. Upon entering the tower, you'll see the Moonstone on a wooden beam. Before you grab it, defeat the Marksman puppet nearby so you can avoid being knocked off. It shouldn't notice you until you get close to it.

• (Amulets) Recharged Amulet - After leaving the tower, look to your right to find a ladder. Up the ladder you'll find a puppet guarding a chest.

• Alidoro - After you flip a switch that sends a minecart rolling down to create a shortcut to the Stargazer, head in the same direction and turn left to find Alidoro. Make sure you exhaust all his dialogue options.

• (Upgrade Materials 52/107) Crescent Moonstone - Keep following the path and once a landfill comes into view, you'll notice a cannon firing down periodically. Use this cannon by hiding behind the nearest large box to break it. It will reveal 2 White Mannequins and the Moonstone.

• (Weapons 20/29) Live Puppet’s Axe Blade and Handle - Climb the tower the cannon was firing from and a chest will be easy to spot at the top.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - Butterfly #3/3 spawns along the 4th boulder's path. As you make it through the 3rd boulder, drop down on your right and drop down once more to have it spawn. As with the other butterflies, this one spawns in a dangerous position.

• (Equipment 14/17) Arch Disruption Cartridge - Proceed through all of the boulder traps to reach a large cavern. Take a left to see a treasure chest guarded by a bear. You can use the bear traps against it, but it's not a game-changer.

• (Weapons 21/29) City Longspear Blade and Handle - Take the path opposite of the previous chest to find a ladder shortcut on your right, and a house on your left. Approach the house and a path will show itself. Be careful when looting the chest as there is an aggressive Carcass inside.

• (Amulets) Leaping Amulet - Make a right turn as you exit the previous house and another right turn. Follow along the path and a Pinocchio-type puppet will spawn (without a nose). Defeat it to get the item.

    Be careful when heading inside since you might fall through the weak floorboard. I think you can jump to the side before it collapses to prevent this but it's not that big of a deal if you do fall in since the treasure will stay put.

Krat Central Station Platform

• Arlecchino (Truth/Lie) - Inside the Trinity Sanctum is Arlecchino. If you want to lie, select "Human". Also, exhaust his other talk options while you're at it.

• (Gestures 16/17) Happy & Test Subject 826 - Exit the room and you'll notice there are 2 elevators. Take the elevator beyond some arrow traps which will lead you down to Test Subject 826. Talk to him to receive a gesture. Unlock the door just further ahead for a shortcut.

• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - Backtrack to the elevator room and take the other one up. Disembark halfway when you see a hole and then take a right to drop down and find a chest.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - Take the same elevator up again and make your way to the wooden bridge. A golden butterfly will spawn here. That means you can get knocked off the bridge if you're not careful. Open with your Fable Art to whittle it down faster because a Green Flamethrower enemy will get in your way.

Chapter 11 (2/3)

Arche Abbey Broken Rift

• (Upgrade Materials 94/107) Dark moon Moonstone of the Covenant - In the room directly after the Stargazer, enter the 2nd room on the left.

• Mechanical Cryptic Vessel - Find the only ladder you can climb up in this area. As soon as you reach the top, a shortcut ladder will be in front of you. At the next left fork, a Harlequin puppet will come running down if you get close. You can either ignore it and move toward the next fork or have it fight the other Elite Carcass near a chest at the end of the 3rd fork. To "lure" it to the other Elite, kill every other enemy from the shortcut ladder leading up to the Harlequin (no further). Then, when the Harlequin chases you, run to the ladder and stay there until it searches for another target. The Harlequin will fight its way to the Elite Carcass. YMMV. The chest behind the Elite Carcass will have the Cryptic Vessel.

• Quartz - From the previous chest, head up the stairway the Harlequin Puppet came from to find a lever. Flip it to open a room. This room can be found in the same area as the original ladder you climbed up from. Enter through this path to find an Elite Pinocchio puppet. Defeat it for a Quartz.

• (Dimensional Butterfly) - Take the ladder up and follow the linear path through the wooden platform and the butterfly will spawn along your path.

• (Upgrade Materials 105/107) Half Moonstone - Once you see 2 Flamethrower Puppets. Look to your right.

• (Upgrade Materials 106/107) Full Moonstone of the Covenant - Once you see an area with wooden beams, look to your immediate left.

• (Upgrade Materials 107/107) Full Moonstone - After you get past the area with wooden beams, climb up the ladder and the stairs and it will be in front of you (beside some wooden crates).

• (Boss 22/25) Red Fox
  • (Accessories 7/8) Red Fox's Mask - Obtained for defeating the Red Fox/giving her Gold Coin Fruit.
• Geppetto (Truth/Lie) - When you encounter Geppetto, pick "Yes" if you want to lie.

• (Key) Arche Abbey Passageway Key - Obtained after speaking to Geppetto.

Arche Abbey Upper Part – Internal Bridge

• (Amulets) Assassin's Amulet - Facing the Stargazer, look to your left and take the path overlooking the dark pit. You'll see a chest at the end. Just jump to reach it.

• (Amulets) Leaping Amulet +1 - Backtrack from the previous chest and follow the side path until you reach a bridge. A chest will be visible to you. Be careful of the Swordsman waiting to ambush you as you cross past the pillar.

• (Handle Upgrade Material) Advance Crank - Follow the path ahead of a shortcut ladder. Once you see a steel bridge, look for a path on your left.

• Quartz - Dropped by an Elite Disruption Boxer just up ahead.

• (Legion Arm Enhancement) Legion Caliber - After crossing some steel beams, you'll come across another steel bridge. A chest will be visible on your right.

• (Handle Upgrade Material) Balance Crank - Along your path, after a Swordsman and Machine Gun Puppet duo. Check your right.

• (Book) So Said Pistris III - Along your path, you'll find a chapel. Check the altar.

• (Book) Simon Manus’ Confession - On a table. Behind the Stargazer.

Arche Abbey Cradle of the Gods

• (Boss 23/25) Simon Manus Awakened God

• Simon Manus (Truth/Lie) - After defeating him, he'll ask you about Sophia. Tell him the opposite of what you did to Sophia to lie.
  For achievement-related purposes (minimum runs):
  • For your Lie playthrough(s), I recommend giving Sophia peace and then telling Simon "I liberated her from the Arch Abbey".
    
  • For the Truth playthrough, let Sophia live, and then tell Simon "I liberated her from the Arch Abbey".
• (Recollection) Arm of God - Obtained by defeating Simon Manus.

End-game Cleanup

This section is BEFORE you talk to Geppetto after defeating Simon Manus. Most of the points below can be done after defeating Laxasia The Complete.

Hotel Krat (CH11)

• (Letter) Cherry-Scented Letter - Assuming you had Giangio make the cure and told Polendina to use it, this letter will be on Antonia's wheelchair (in Geppetto's office).

• (Record) Memory of Beach - Also obtained alongside the letter above.
  • Talk to Polendina for some truly sad dialogue.
• Mechanical Cryptic Vessel Decryption - Have Venigni solve the cipher. The clue states "Orders: The train doesn't leave anymore, and the merchant awaits a "Frozen Feast" in the destroyed down." Head to the Abandoned Apartment Stargazer and cross the first bridge. Head past the shortcut door and cross the blue rock bridge. After crossing, take a right and a left, then head up the 2nd set of stairs to find the merchant. Equip the special weapon—Frozen Feast before you talk to him.
  • Quartz - Obtained after talking to the merchant.
    
  • (Outfits 13/14) Red Fox's Hunting Apparel - Also obtained after talking to the merchant.
• (Special Weapons 8/11) - Purchase from Hugo (in exchange for the Sad Zealot’s Ergo) who is now in Alidoro's former spot in the hotel.
  
• (Special Weapons 9/11) - Purchase from Hugo in exchange for the Fallen One’s Ergo.

Rosa Isabelle Street Entrance

• Test Subject 826 - Head to the bridge overlooking the slope just before the opera house entrance. This is where you first fought a Mad Clown Puppet. Test Subject will be on top of the bridge with items to sell. From the Stargazer, make your way to the gate of fire and take the shortcut door on the left. If you didn't unlock this shortcut, backtrack from the Estella Opera House Entrance instead. You can buy the following items from him:
  • (Outfits 14/14) The White Lady's Hunting Apparel
    
  • (Equipment 17/17) LADA Disruption Cartridge
    
  • (Weapons 29/29) Carcass Crystal Axe Blade and Handle
• Although not a collectible, something strange happens to Julian's wife after you exhaust all of Test Subject 826's dialogue.

Barren Swamp

• (Side Quests 9/9) Broken Puppet - Now that you have the Happy and Anger gestures, it's time to complete the Broken Puppet's quest. Head to the Barren Swamp to finish the quest.
  
• Quartz - Reward for finishing the Broken Puppet's quest.

Endings & Post-game Cleanup

If you don't want to play through the Lie-related endings twice, then this next bit is for you. Before you talk to Geppetto, make a backup save after turning off the Steam Cloud feature.

This next part lists the collectibles associated with each (Lie playthrough) ending. These endings assume you gave Sophia peace and lied for most if not all your playthrough. Also, listen to all the records before you complete the steps below.

Real Boy Ending

• After talking to Geppetto, agree to give him your heart.
  
• After viewing the ending, you'll be prompted about NG+. Reject it to spawn back into the hotel.
  
• Play the piano for the Pianist of Krat achievement.

• (Letter) Geppetto's Letter - On Gepetto's desk. Read the contents fully for The Story of One Father achievement.

Rise of P Ending

• After talking to Geppetto, refuse to give him your heart.
  
• (Boss 24/25) Nameless Puppet - The battle starts immediately after you refuse. Defeat the puppet for its special Ergo and The First Puppet achievement.

• After viewing the ending, you'll be prompted about NG+. Reject it to spawn back into the hotel.
  
• (Special Weapons 10/11) Proof of Humanity - Purchase from Hugo in exchange for the Nameless Puppet’s Ergo. He'll be in Alidoro's former spot. Just for kicks, he'll be wearing Alidoro's old clothes too.

• (Letter) The Blue Butterfly's Letter - On Gepetto's desk. Read the contents fully for The Story of the Blue Butterfly achievement.

• (Special Weapons 11/11) Golden Lie - Check the portrait of Carlo just by the entrance to Geppetto's office. Interact with it to obtain the weapon.

• (Letter) The Letter of the Eternal - Check the spot where Giangio used to be. You can also get this in the other ending, but I listed it here instead since this is the save I'm using to go into NG+.

Double-check what you have, especially the records. Make sure you have the following records before NG+:

CH1 - Cerasani Alley

• (Record) Proposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1 (Golden) - Purchase from the Merchant.
  
• Hotal Krat Door (Truth/Lie) - This is a mandatory lie, even on your Truth run, since you can't progress unless you pretend to be human.

CH2 - Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard

• (Record) Quixotic (Golden) - Purchase from the Merchant.

CH2 - Krat City Hall

• Weeping Woman (Truth/Lie) - When answering the weeping woman after returning her "baby", select “That’s just a puppet” (Truth).

CH4 - Moonlight Town

• (Boss 25/25) The Atoned - As you reach the Cable Railway, you'll have to talk to The Atoned to Proceed. For your Truth run, select "Do Nothing" (Truth) which then results in a battle with her.
  Dropped by The Atoned:
  • (Accessories 8/8) The Atoned's Mask

CH4 - St. Frangelico Cathedral Library

• Alidoro (Truth/Lie) - Send Alidoro to Hotel Krat (Truth).

CH6 - Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert

• Julian the Gentleman (Truth/Lie) - When returning the Wedding Ring to Julian, select “I’ve never seen that happen before” (Truth).

CH6 - Hotel Krat

• Antonia (Truth/Lie) - After defeating the King of Puppets, you'll get the cutscene about her appearance. Select “There’s nothing left” (Truth).
  
• Polendina (Truth/Lie) - When Polendina confides to you about love, select “I have” (Truth). "Show the wedding ring", available if you lied to Julian, is also considered the truth, but it requires you to lie first. I don't recommend tempting fate in this scenario.

CH7 - Lorenzini Arcade

• (Record) Shadow Flower (Golden) - Purchase from the Merchant near the fountain.

CH7 - Grand Exhibition Conference Room

• Simon Manus (Truth/Lie) - After defeating Victor, answer Simon's question with "Hope for a cure" (Truth).

CH7 - Hotel Krat

• (Recollection) Four-fingered Glove - Make sure to grab this from Eugénie before continuing through the Barren Swamp.

CH8 - Barren Swamp Entrance

• Give the gloves to Alidoro.

CH8 - Hotel Krat

• Eugénie (Truth/Lie) - When she asks about what Alidoro thought of the gloves, respond with "He was angry. He said the gloves were rubbish." (Truth).

CH9 - Abandoned Apartment

• (Record) Memory of Beach (Golden) - Purchase from the Merchant.

CH9 - Hotel Krat

• Belle (Truth/Lie) - After progressing Belle's quest and meeting Atkinson, tell her "He’s become a monster" (Truth).

CH10 - Hotel Krat

• Venigni (Truth/Lie) When Venigni has you listen to a voice transmission, tell him "Geppetto caused the Puppet Frenzy" (Truth).
  
• Eugénie (Truth/Lie) - After exhausting Alidoro's dialogue and then killing him, you'll get Alidoro's Cryptic Vessel. Make sure to decode and read it first before talking to Eugénie. Tell her "The real Alidoro was murdered by the fake one" (Truth).
  
• (Record) Proposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1 - Afterward, reload the hotel by teleporting out and back in. Talk to Eugénie once again for the The Story of a Stranger Girl achievement and a record.

CH11 - Arche Abbey Outer Wall

• Test Subject 826 - Make sure to take the elevator behind arrow traps and talk to Test Subject 826. Open the door near him.
  
• Arlecchino (Truth/Lie) - After opening the final Trinity Sanctum Door and talking to Arlecchino, answer "Puppet" (Truth).

CH11 - Rosa Isabelle Street Entrance

• (Record) Fascination (Golden) - After defeating Laxasia The Complete, find Test Subject 826 on top of the bridge behind the gate of fire. You can purchase the final(!!) record from him. Listen to all of the records in the hotel to get the Golden Melody achievement.

CH11 - Ascension Bridge

• Sophia (Ending-related Choice) - When Sophia presents you with a choice, select "Let her live".

CH11 - Arche Abbey Upper Part – Internal Bridge

• Geppetto (Truth/Lie) - After your encounter with the Red Fox, Geppetto will ask you a question. Answer "No" (Truth).

CH11 - Arche Abbey Cradle of the God

• Simon Manus (Truth/Lie) - After defeating him, he'll ask you about Sophia. Tell him “I liberated her from Arche Abbey“ (Truth).

CH11 - Under the Abyss

• Geppetto (Ending-related Choice) - When Geppetto asks for your heart, Refuse. Defeat the Nameless Puppet just like in the Rise of P ending and you'll get a similar-looking ending (but shorter) with Geppetto calling you a useless puppet. This will reward you with the Free from the puppet string ending and achievement.

I've just checked, and you can kill her after finishing Malum District. Possibly after just encountering the boss. Not after Andreus.
She says of "being fooled by puppet", so I guess it's the "Liar Coffin" scene that triggers her.

Chapter 6 Recharged Amulet is NG+ only

I just tested: if you don't give Cecile the holy mark before defeating the boss, she actually turns into a carcass which is still capable of some interesting dialogue (which attacks you on sight). Interestingly, she turns into one of those lumpy half-baked looking carcasses that drop out of ceiling pods, which aren't otherwise encounterable that early.

Update: I ignored the lie/truth conversation with Belle on my truth run and she's still sticking around even through chapter 11. Just going to scumsave near Laxasia to do all the records, and then reload and go with Truth answer for truth ending.

I accidentally killed Atkinson and I never got his letter. I lied to Belle and said "He must have fled" and she got mad and won't talk to me. I didn't get the "Why" Record. Am I locked out of good ending?

Faded whistle won't appear (and quest missed) if boss is killed before speaking to Toma (second quest). You have to move the subquest before the boss enounter.
