Red Earth/War-Zard: All the 20 Continues Endings the Less Boring Way
By Bagheera Magaro
Not even I am bad enough at fighting games to need 20 continues...on an appropriate difficulty level at least.

80 Continues is 60 Too Many
Each character in Red Earth/War-Zard has an Ending that requires using 20 continues to get. That would be 80 continues total if you do it the obvious way. So here's a better way.

First, make a Quick Save on the Character Select Screen after you use 20 continues. Beat the game and get to wherever the Collection thinks you finished the game. (I forget where that is exactly. I'd wait for the Attract Screen just to be safe.) Load Quick Save. Change to a different character. DON'T PANIC WHEN YOU CHANGE CHARACTERS AND SEE YOU'RE STARTING AT THE FIRST BOSS! That's normal (tho dumb in my opinion) and the game still knows how many continues you used. You can verify this by looking at your score/exp since Red Earth/War-Zard adds 1 to your score each time you use a continue. The last two digits of your score should be 20 or higher for the 20 Continues Endings.

Anyway, just beat the game with the different character and it will count for that character's 20 Continues Ending. Repeat for each other character you need the 20 Continues Ending for. DON'T FORGET YOU ONLY HAVE 1 QUICK SAVE FOR THE WHOLE COLLECTION SO DON'T OVERWRITE THE 20 CONTINUES SAVE UNTIL AFTER YOU FINISH GETTING THE ENDINGS!

If you're just starting out on getting all the Endings, I suggest starting with Mai Ling/Tao since her Endings all depend on how many continues you use (check the game for further details) and thus you can grab her A & B endings on your way to 20 continues for her C Ending.

So there ya go. A lot less downtime to get probably one of the most boring ending requirements in fighting games met.

Extra: The most reliable way I've found to get Leo's Ending C is to use his Mars Slash Special to finish Blade. Leo's normal attacks do not bisect Blade...despite clearly using the sword in those moves. *shrugs*
