About this guide
About game versions
I will write update date for every region, but I think this data will be relevant for a long time, because loot tables were updated recently.

About statistics collection method
I've checked each place in this tables 100 times and I've wrote the results. Real chances for each gear can differ, but should be approximately equal to my stats. When I've found one gear several times in one place and in one save it doesn't make the chances higher, I count them all as one gear, so in this tables you see the chance to find at least one item.

About loot tables
I know there are loot tables in TLD and I know how they work, but I don't want to know 100% all the gear spawn places in every new survival run. That's why I've decided to collect this stats and to get only percents for each gear.

About matches, can openers and prybars
As I know matches and can openers has a very low chance to spawn in each container, that's why:
  • I don't add this gear to the appropriate place if I've founded it 1-2 times in 100 saves in the same container;
  • The total region's spawn chance for this gear can be even higher than the sum of the chances in all the described places (the good example is can opener in Milton: in addition to the places you see in my table I've found it once near the crashed plane and twice in the Hermit's Cabin).
Prybars also can spawn in each red toolbox or green metal box.

About my English
I'm not a native English speaker so there could be some mistakes in place names. Feel free to write about mistakes in the comments section.

About gear icons
There are 13 icons in each table. This is what each one mean from left to right:
  • Can opener
  • Prybar
  • Hacksaw
  • Heavy hammer
  • Bedroll
  • Matches
  • Firestriker
  • Magnifying lens
  • Storm lantern
  • Emergency stim
  • Mountaineering rope
  • Distress pistol
  • Flare shell

HRV map with numbers
Hushed River Valley is the most difficult region to understand my location descriptions, so I've decided to add this map.

Dwage, this is not what I'm interested in + I have no ideas how to add it to the table without ruining such good and comprehensible formatting.

You can get my raw data [1drv.ms] and make everything you want. Every line is founded gear:
• Savefile number;
• Coordinates or house;
• Gear or "container | gear".

All the coordinates are listed here [1drv.ms] (A-C columns on the last sheet). Sorry for Russian language in this data, I'm Russian and of course I use Russian in all the raw data. Hope you can translate all you need or just check the places with teleport using Developer console mod.

I would absolutely love to see this with an average number expected per region. So if it's less than 100% it would just be whatever the percent was, but if you are likely to find 2 or 3 of them in a region, that would be nice to know. So as an example, if I want to find 4 or 5 boxes of matches to stockpile some, which region would be best to search? Etc.

All the regions finished! :Forrest:
Now waiting for the last TFTFT region, I'll add it too.

Thank you very useful table.

I've updated Mountain Town with info from 50 saves and added the whole region's spawn chances for FM and MT.
I'll add the new table with only region's spawn chances later, when I'll have more regions checked in 50 saves.

Mr WrathKill, you haven't got the data correctly. I've checked my tables. In 13 saves we have hacksaw in:
1) Dam
2) –
3) Trapper's Cabin
4) –
5) Trapper's Cabin
6) Dam + Dave's Quiet Clearing
7) Dam
8) –
9) Dam
10) Dam
11) Dam + Unnamed Pond
12) Dam + Unnamed Pond
13) Dam

I think it's a good idea to add the whole region's percents. 🙂 I'll do it, but only step-by-step when I'll update each region with 50-saves info. For example for ML the chance to find a hacksaw is 77%.
Mr WrathKill Nov 4, 2023 @ 5:39am
If I get data correctly, ML should have guaranteed HackSaw spawn. But it does not. At least I've been twice in a run where no Hacksaw was found there, in every deep corner

I've found some method to check regions much faster. Now this stats will be collected from 50 different saves! :Raccoon:
But I should check this regions separately for this method, so I'll update them gradually. For now the only updated region with 50 saves is Forlorn Muskeg.

I've added HRV map with icons to understand which locations I mean. :Raccoon:
