Level 3999-B is a seemingly infinite neon arcade that has an appearance and layout resembling most of the arcades present in the Frontrooms, such as food courts and play areas. It's noteworthy for its large number of arcade machines, including a variety of titles. Some arcade machines contain games that require high-performance PCs, mobile devices, or video game consoles, Some lost video games like Polybius and Gizmonauts, among others can also be found here intact. Due to the nature of the games in question, it is unknown if the level is pulling these games from the Frontrooms or creating them itself. There are even some non-game programs available that are in an arcade machine. Facebook and Microsoft Word, on-top of obscure programs like Cellebrite UFED4PC and Google Calendar for Samsung Smart TV (2010/2011) have be found here. Some other found applications like Apple's App Store are largely unfunctional, as they were not made for the device and thus cannot download apps. Other noteworthy non-video games like Pinball Machines and Air Hockey are also relatively common, but only in select areas. Like in a typical arcade, the outside area represents a parking lot—cars, streetlights, and trees can be seen through the windows. However, the windows’ strength makes it incredibly difficult to enter that area. This outside is considered a sub-level, but very little exploration has been done there. There is only currently one documented wormhole in reality that will lead straight to this level in the frontrooms, which is in the middle of the ocean, at Latitude: -60.96187, Longitude: 20.21726, Distortion: 4.24. Jump into the water, and expect neon lights instead of the ocean. You will still be wet.
When you enter this level, you will be given an indestructible sheet of paper with a list of tasks to complete at the front counter. Completing the instructions will allow you to exit The Backrooms. These tasks are random and could be things like finding, eating, or using a certain item, entering and exiting a different level, or killing a certain entity, completing arcade games, among others. You will also be given a red button that will instantly take you back to this level other than if you’re in The Void along with a few certain levels, since some of the tasks will require you to go to different levels. If you lose the list or the button, it will teleport and appear on your person again. If you exit through the glass door without completing your tasks, you will be sent back.
The arcade machines are durable and resist to damage, though some feature noticeable dents and other small signs of wear. To play a game, simply insert any coin-shaped item, as the machines can take any currency or object that fits. It has been noted that as wanderers become invested in the game, lasting negative mental effects of the Backrooms are mitigated, and wanders have described a sense of ease and normality. Any attempt to damage the machine has resulted in the attacker becoming unconscious. Fortunately, there has been no long-term damage recorded. Regardless, attempting to cause damage or dismantle the machines is not advised.
