It depends on whether your map is very complex, i.e. with many points close together.
In the meantime, you can try modifying the "larg_col" variable in the conquest.txt file; this represents the width in pixels of the imaginary columns that divide the space between the 2 HQs: the more points there are, the smaller this number must be (do not go below 10).
