SS James K. Polk Lore:

The Philadelphia Navigation company, a company established in 1846 was to serve the city of Philadelphia. In the early 1900s the Philadelphia Navigation Company wanted to make more brand new ocean liners to replace the aging steamships they acquired during the late 1800s. They built two ships, the SS Cleveland and the SS Utah. Both of these ships launched in 1907 and were found to be a great success for the company. Seeing this success and needing to compete with other companies the Philadelphia Navigation Company needed newer and larger ships. In response the company designed 2 large ocean liners that would be fast and luxurious. They were the SS Mckinley, and the SS Polk.

The Polk would be the first of the two to begin construction. In 1909 the keels were layed down and the ships begun to be built. by late 1910 the Polk was nearly complete while the Mckinley had just begun construction. The SS Polk had been fitted and was ready to have its maiden voyage. June 10th 1911 was to be its first voyage, but due to some delays and a disorganized ship the Polk had left Philadelphia bound to New York, then to Southampton. Large crowds in philadelphia came to see the Polk leave for New York, and it was expected that in New York there would also be large crowds, but instead of having the Polk being the center of attention the larger RMS Olympic stole its glory. Nearly no one cared for the brand new Polk. Its first voyage went without incident and the Polk began to become more and more well known, The Polk's sister ship Mckinley unfortunately had a run in with a tugboat in New York and a costly fix was needed. In 1914 the first world war begun. The United States was not involved yet but the struggling Philadelphia Navigation Company didn't want to risk putting their brand new ocean liners in harms way. It was only In 1917 when the United States joined that the Polk was demanded to be used as a hospital ship.

By 1918 the war was over and the ships begin operating again. The Polk and Mckinley had great seasons in the early 1920's. The Philadelphia Navigation Company had put out 2 new ships, The SS Harrison, and the SS Jefferson. These ships were even larger than the Polk and Mckinley and were now the flagship of the Philadelphia Line. This ended up hurting the sales of thickets for the Polk and the Company decided they would either sell the ship or scrap it in 1930. In 1929 though the largest stock market crash happened and the great depression had started and the Philadelphia line were looking to get rid of their smaller ships and the Polk was put up for sale, and bought by the British navy for cheap. This would begin a new life for the SS Polk..

The SS Polk was immediately renovated and its top two decks were taken off. The British Navy wanted to turn the
SS Polk into a new Battle Cruiser fitted with 8 inch guns and a top speed of 30kts. By 1932 the SS Polk now known as the HMS Durham was finished and was fully integrated as a battle cruiser. In 1939 WW2 started and the HMS Durham would patrol the English channel along with many other ships. But in may of 1941 the HMS Durham was given a new task. This task would be to track and stop a brand new German battleship called the Bismarck. The HMS Durham left port with the HMS Hood and the HMS Prince of Wales to find and sink the Bismarck. This was going to be a difficult task but the HMS Hood was the most powerful ship for over 20 years, On the 24th the engagement began. The British ships shot first dealing damage to the Bismarck, the HMS Durham fired her 8inch guns. Bismarck returned shots and lit fires onboard the HMS Hood, the battle continued. The HMS Durham was hit on her stern, but the armor was made to withstand a blast. Off to the Durhams starboard side (right) they saw the HMS Hood blow up and sink in half. The two remaining british ships needed to flea, Unfortunately when the Durham was hit on her stern it disabled the engines. The HMS Prince of Wales escaped but now the HMS Durham was alone in the middle of the Atlantic fighting one of the most powerful ships in the world. The Durham was no match in firepower or size and was swiftly taken down by the Bismarck, no one on the Durham survived.

It is easy to say the SS Polk was an incredible ship that had an amazing career, And it is a ship that will be remembered for a very long time for both its career as an ocean liner sailing people to new lives, and as a battle cruiser in the midst of the largest war in history...

No, I assume you followed the directions on how to operate it? It shouldn't be too bad. I never notice cause my sound is turned down to 10% regardless.
motor is broken
is it normal that when you spawn it it makes your ears bleed?

Yeah the ship has an overall bad turning radius. It usually requires that you set the throttle down a little bit for either the left or right engine. I am actually putting out a new ship in probably a few hours. After this ship I figured out the issue.
