Unlocking All Characters

Game does a poor job explaining where to find new characters, which is cool cus it encourages you to explore the areas but it can get a bit annoying since sometimes you get little to no information about where to go next.

To unlock them, i recommend to have beaten the "chapter" the character is located at to reach some areas easier. (Also, i ordered them in order of story progression).

Story related spoilers in post game characters section.

------- Main Story Characters -------

The characters in this section can be unlocked during the main campaign/story.

Like i mentioned in the guide description, i strongly recommend finishing the chapter mentioned for each character before attempting to unlock them for 2 reasons:

1.- A better understanding of the area.

2.- Even if you find a character and complete their challenges, their final challenge will be locked by either one of those "get X REP" Oldhead challenges or story progression, so its better to just finish the chapter to unlock the character.

*Coils challenges can be completed during the story campaign but his final one, which is locked behind post game*

Rave

Rave is located inside the subway station in Verdum Hills, which is on the left side of the road coming from the hideout.

After completing her challenge she will go to the bazaar, located to the west of the main plaza area (you need 100 rep for the oldheads to let you pass) Once inside she will challenge you to beat her score.

After beating her challenge, she will be right near the entrance to the hideout. She will challenge you to a race and once you beat her she will ask to join you.

Mesh

Mesh will be on the top platform in the middle of the bus terminal in Brink Terminal.

The only way to reach it is by grinding on this rail above you (above the underground mini plaza).

After talking and completing his challenge he will be located outside of the tallest tower in the area, talk to him and he will challenge you to a score battle.

When you are done go through this tunnel next to the canal, youll get a message telling you to go to the bridge on the canal.

He will tell you he lost his skateboard and you need to drain the canal, in order to do that, next to him theres an oldhead blocking an entrance which requires 140 REP to go through. Once you make it through, youll need to grind on this billboard to get to the control room. Follow him and he will join your crew.

Shine

Shine will be on the left side in a food court area in the second of the three main areas in Millennium Mall. In order to progress with her requirements you will have to do the exact dance shes doing.

Next she will be on second floor of the food court in the first area of the mall. After that she will tell you to go to the red record store (which is right next to the food court).

Once you get there, you will get a text message from her telling you that shes not there anymore but in entrance of the theater hall. So go to the third area, the Theater Hall (you unlock it after beating the big cop machine) and she will be behind the staircase you came from.

After that go back to the second area, at the very top (third floor) theres a hall right in the middle of the mall, youll get a message once you get there.

Go back to the first area, the warehouse is the place you had to tag a machine in order to open the next area earlier in that episode. Shes at the very far of the warehouse, talk to her and she will join you

Rise

Rise will be at the very far of the entrance of Pyramid Island ("main" area), she will ask you to take some pictures of her with your phone. (If you want a better understand of her positioning, you will have to be moving literally one floor above in the exact same spot)

When you are done, go to bridge just above her and once you jump the gap youll get a text message from her.

She will tell you to get to the top, which you can once you progress through the story (sliding inside a tower), she will be at the very far, right on the red spiral. When you talk to her, she will ask you to choose a place to take pics of her at, you can interact with the cartons of milk or whatever they are on her right side.

She will challenge you to tag a spot after taking 3 pics, the trick to this is to get on the blue/green spiral next to it and jump from the side. Once you do it she will join you.

------- Post Game Characters -------

After beating the game you can unlock previously met characters.

Tips for beating the challenges

To beat challenges you need to understand the multiplier mechanic.

Leaning on a corner of a rail and riding billboards increases your multiplier by 1, Each one counts only once on a single run (and once in a combo outside of these challenges), for example if you lean on a corner and counts for the multiplier then you try leaning again on the same corner of the rail it wont count until the run is over, that means you have to keep your combo going during the whole run to make it as efficient as possible.

While leaning on corners youll fill up your boost meter, hold down the boost button and do a trick for max points (only hold when you do the trick or youll drain it faster), also, dont forget the manual button to keep the combo going. You can do boost tricks while doing a manual which is a great way to keep racking up points, interesting enough, even if your manual meter decreases, doing a boost trick it will fully replenish so, doing a boost trick before it depletes means you can manual for an infinite time.

A good route and applying everything mentioned wont make getting millions in a combo so daunting.

TL;DR

1. You have to reach the score in a single combo or you wont be able to rack up enough points.
2. Ride every billboard & lean on every rail corner in order to not miss any of them.
3. Manual to keep your combo and use boost tricks while manualing to recharge your manual bar when moving to a different part of the map when needed.
4. Spam those boost tricks, thats the trick behind getting millions in a single combo.

Coil

You can find him further into the main strip in a alleyway in Mataan on the right side. You have to mirror the dance hes doing to move on to the next step. You can complete his first 2 challenges during the main story but the third one until after beating the gamesince reaching the area he is in for the first time locks you into the final boss (reason why i decided to place him in the post game section).

After progressing further into the level, youll get a message in the big golden statue area.

Hes going to be in the middle of a building, the best way to cross it imo is just to boost and double jump into it.

Go back to the entrance of the strip on the right side and youll get another text message.

Post Game Only.Now you need to go inside the golden statues mouth and after crossing the first gap, he will be dancing to your left on top of a building. Win the race and he will join the crew. Theres 2 ways of beating him in his race, either not following him and going through the elephants, or having max boost, using it took take an advance and once you reach the big slide, jump across it and land on the jump pads.

Felix & Red

The "real" Red becomes unavailable at the very late of chapter 5, but after beating the game, Felix & Red become available to choose from any dance floor.

Flesh Prince

Flesh Prince is located inside his second base in Mataan (the one you have to slide to get in, located in the underground mall). You have to do the popping dance in front of him.

Rietveld

You can find her in the same spot you met and fought for the first time, next to the original Franks hideout (the basketball court). Youll have have an encounter with the police before unlocking her.

Frank

A Frank will be grinding at the top part of the Verdum Hills main plaza, gotta do his challenge to make him join your crew.

DJ Cyber

Located at the top of the building surrounded by billboards in the square of Millenium Square (You have to grind the billboards until you reach the top). Complete his score challenge and he will join you.

DOT EXE

You can find him grinding on the second area of the Millennium Mall, right before the entrance to the Theater Hall (third area).

Eclipse

An Eclipse member is located in the exact same area as the first time you met Mesh. Complete her challenge to unlock her.

Devil Theory

A Devil Theory is grinding at the beginning of the second level in Pyramid Island. Complete his challenge to add him to your crew.

Futurism

You can find Futurism in the big golden statue area. Same as before, gotta complete her challenge for her to join your team.

Oldhead

Tag every single graffiti in the game, as soon as you tag the last graffiti an unlock message will pop up. (Currently, the way the game tracks the graffiti spots is bugged, meaning that the info i posted below can be different for others and even if you tag every single spot the game might not track it correctly thus not letting you unlock the character, somewhat uncommon tho.) Also, Oldhead is not available on the GOG version due to BRC running on a different build.

For Shine, you HAVE to have beaten DOT EXE to get her even tho you see her earlier than that. You need to breakdance for her in the warehouse and you don't get that until you beat them.
