Do you have absolutely no idea who/what counters a hero? Well then, grab some doritos and Mountain Dew, because you will find out now!

Attention: This guide is still under construction (it still works tho, but it doesnt look like i want it to)

Welcome.

Admit it, if you are reading this guide, you surely have NO idea what counters a random hero. Or just want to get reminded. If you really do, then welcome! I am who i am, and this is my guide.

You are allowed to spam the link to this guide in discussions/dev forum/reddit. Howewer i am not responsible for your bans.

Before we start

Please note that almost all heroes can be countered by disables, ganks, shutdowns and Doom. Im saying this now so i wont have to do this in the list.

Also when you think i said something wrong, or i am missing something, please let me know in the comments and i will fix it. Thanks.

The List

(PROTIP: Press Crtl+F)

Abaddon - Burst him when he has ~500 HP (for example with Lion or Lina), so his ult wont activate automically. if he triggers his ult dont attack him or Eul him so your teammates wont come up with a clever idea to attack him and he wont move away.
Alchemist - Antimage will melt him (blink in, eat all his mana, eventually void him and/or blink away when he is gonna use that stun, so he will blow up himself). If that isnt possible, deny his farm (a unfarmed alchemist is a dead alchemist) or use Halberd.
Ancient Apparition - SILENCE! He wont do ♥♥♥♥ if silenced. Also try not to teamfight when affected by his ult.
Anti Mage - Early game he is paper. Harass him, deny farm. If he is farmed, quickly burst him, use hex (void, shaman or scythe of vise) or halberd. Bonus points if you have Shadow Demon (give him an orchid maybe)/Outworld Devourer (am doesnt have much int) in your team.
Axe - Play safe. Deny his farm. If that isnt possible, execute him from a safe distance, hex him, or get Enchantress (passive op) or Lifestealer (infest ally, wait til axe calls ally, suprise ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, dead).
Bane - Linkens blocks his spells! Also disable him when he is using his ult. Keep in mind that you can deny sleeping allies so they can actually survive.
Batrider - Magic Wand to counter his petrol, and linkens/disables to counter his lasso. Avoid his fire!
Beastmaster - Linkens blocks his ult.
Bloodseeker - q+w+r as chaos knight, pwnt. Also get a tp scroll (if bullshitter bloodseeker doesnt have a skull basher), or a blademail to scare him off.
Bounty Hunter - Detection (sentry wards, dust, gem) or Slardar (ult with true sight + -10 armor? and that stun? hell yes).
Brewmaster - DONT LET HIM POP HIS ULT! Silence him, stun him constantly, just dont let him! If he did, focus on Earth, Storm (if Earth is dead) or Fire (if previous 2 are dead), he will respawn in place of one of these. Without his friends, he cant do much.
Bristleback - Wand helps, if not just nuke him from the front or get Axe/Legion Commander and call/duel him (it forces bristleback to face you front to front)
Broodmother - AOE (sand king, earthshaker, void, zeus) and detection (place a sentry in her web, lel). You can also get Ogre and throw fire at her to get profit
Centaur Warrunner - Double damage taken from his double edge? Hah, only with blademail.
Chaos Knight - Farmed medusa (ult and 5 arrows at once), blademail, ghost scepter (only magical thing he has is his stun)
Chen - Counter his jungle (he is squishy as ♥♥♥♥).
Clinkz - Detection and Ghost Scepter (he only has physical ♥♥♥♥)!
Clockwerk - Skywrath (MYSTIC FLARE!). If that doesnt work, get BKB and melt him in 1v1, or just force staff out of here (will eat your mana/hp though)
Crystal Maiden - BKB so she wont bite, disable her ult to make her even more squishy.
Dark Seer - DON'T GO INTO HIS WALL/SHELL. He is vulnerable otherwise, just disable him so he wont use his sprint
Dazzle - Harass the heck out of him. If he uses his Shallow Grave, use Eul so he wont go anywhere or just chase him/graved enemy til it runs out.
Death Prophet - Try to 1v1 her with blademail when she has her ult on, huehuehue.
Disruptor - If you know he has Glimpse, try to avoid using tps when he is in your lane or nearby. Also target him first in teamfights
Doom - RUSH LINKENS BEFORE HE GETS REFRESHER. WITHOUT DOOM HE IS FOOD (if ganked/without farm and you have disables). Illusion based heroes also help (and guarantee Doom a free report from his teammates)
Dragon Knight - Eat his armor with Desolator, Slardar etc!
Drow Ranger - HUG HER, SHE WONT BITE. Seriously, get close to her (for example with Pudge), her ult wont work when you are near.
Earth Spirit - Silence, bkb (100% magical spells), dodge his stones.
Earthshaker - Clockwerk (constant ministuns ♥♥♥♥♥) and BKB.
Elder Titan - If you arent getting stunned over and over, you shouldnt have a bad time dodging his ult/spirit. Also target him before he eats his spirit, as his aura can mess your team up
Ember Spirit - You need to make his early game a nightmare. If that isnt possible, silence him or blademail him (blademail makes it impossible for him to not take any damage).
Enchantress - She is squishy, so spam spells (skywrath) or burst her away (lion)
Enigma -Disable his black hole, counter his jungle, or just steal his black hole and use it as rubick. You can also get Legion Commander to get free dmg.
Faceless Void - EARLY GAME HE IS FOOD. You can also get Tiny (gl void, stuns huehuehue) or halberd/eul to make his chrono a waste.
Gyrocopter - Stick to creeps to make them absorb the salve, kill his missile, gtfo from his ult.
Huskar - Viper, blademail (even more sacrifice) and halberd. N3N KATKA
Invoker - Silence him, BKB, Anti Mage to eat his mana or when he is Quas Wex - Dust.
Io - disable the heck out of him. if he uses his relocate, just camp the place where he will return, then gangbang.
Jakiro - stay away from him if you know his friends are nearby and/or you wont kill him.
Juggernaut - GHOST SCEPTER AND EUL TO ♥♥♥♥ UP HIS ULT.
Keeper of the Light - Heheahah ahaha haha, Nyx, Nyx, Nyx. And blademail.
Kunkka - Try to avoid his Torrent and Ghostship. When he gets X, get Eul.
Legion Commander - Linken's Sphere (IT BLOCKS THE FREAKING DUEL) or Abaddon (his ult works when dueling). You can also stun her when she is dueling with your ally.
Leshrac - stomp him with BKB on
Lich - BKB, Pipe and Blademail (free damage to lich, bonus points when he has aghs)
Lifestealer - 1v1 him as Ursa, he wont stand a chance. You can also get Sheepstick or Halberd.
Lina - mainly a caster, so BKB (watch out for her passive though) and silence.
Lion - same as above, but BKB is more safer to use as he doesnt have that passive, just dont get hexed
Lone Druid - Gank him (not the bear, him) and deny his jungle
Luna - Blademail to make her take random, uncontrollable damage from both eclipse and her passive.
Lycan - Ghost Scepter (physical hero) and Wards to prevent yourself from being ganked/prevent him from doing Rosh.
Magnus - Silence him so he wont mess your team up.
Medusa - Even a 6 slotted Medusa wont stand a chance vs 6 slotted Anti Mage. Also gank her early game, deny her farm, or just get Halberd.
Meepo - CHAOS DUNK or lich if you dont like epic verbs
Mirana - Detection (Gem or Wards work best), you can also silence her/Global Silence everyone for better results. Also avoid her arrow or hide behind creeps!
Morphling - Stuns DOESNT disable his morph. Silences, howewer, do! He is also a hard carry, so destroy his early game. Lion and Shaman (hex and ult op) do well againist him.
Naga Siren - Silence her (irony) and AoE all of her
Nature's Prophet - SPIRIT BREAKER. Also early game ganks.
Necrophos - Silence him so he wont KS.
Nightstalker - Wards at night, rape him at day. Also silence him so he wont pop his ult/other spells.
Nyx Assasin - Detection and Blademail (if you actually manage to pop it before he pops his spells+dagon)
Ogre Magi - Where did that BKB come from?
Omniknight - Disable him so he wont pop his ♥♥♥♥. He is squishy without his spells.
Outworld Devourer - BKB to piss him off. If you really need to counter him in laning phase, get nyx (he can survive od's harrasment) or razor (easier farm).

The List, part 2

Because one part isnt enough
Phantom Assasin - MKB vs her evasion, Blademail (crit yourself ♥♥♥♥♥) and constant burst (skywrath with aghs for example)
Phantom Lancer - SLAMMIN'
Phoenix - Disable him or get Troll/Windranger/Ursa/Mask of Madness/other thing with high attack speed to counter his supernova.
Puck - Silence/Doom her so she wont escape
Pudge - LIFESTEALER (YOU CANT EAT MEAT WITH MEAT INSIDE) URSA (FOR 1V1) AND WARDS
Pugna - BKB, silences. Dont forget to find that Nether Ward before it ♥♥♥♥♥ up your teammates, especially Skywrath Mage.
Queen of Pain - BKB, silences
Razor - Blademail! If you pop it when Razor has his ult active, its almost guaranteed that Razor will take 500 damage, even if he doesnt right click you.
Riki - IF I GOT A DOLLAR FOR EACH RIKI IS OP THREAD I WOULD BE RICH. GET DETECTION (DUST, GEM, WARDS), GET BH OR SLARDAR, GET BRISTLEBACK (MAYBE GIVE HIM A GEM), GET SILENCES/MUTES (DOOM, LC, NIGHTSTALKER)
Rubick - Silence him or get BKB
Sand King - Point Target AOE spells (QUAKE AND CRACK), detection, disable him before he activates his ult.
Shadow Demon - Wand and burst damage.
Shadow Fiend - Templar Assasin, Blademail, detection when he has shadow blade or wards when he has blink. Dont be near him when he dies!
Shadow Shaman - Silence, BKB
Silencer - As long as he wont pop his ult, nyx him. You can also get bkb or silence him (lol)
Skywrath Mage - Pugna (nether ward op), blademail, bkb
Slardar - Manta and Diffusal Blade (both remove his ult when you pop them)
Slark - I SMELL BLOOD. BS's Thirst basically prevents Slark from healing, as he constantly gets detected. Also silence (BEFORE HE POPS HIS PURGE) and halberd (dont let him use his purge).
Sniper - Pudge (obvious), Legion Commander (get blink and enjoy free damage) and Spirit Breaker (pray that you wont get ministunned constantly tho)
Spectre - Make her early game nightmare. Kill all her illusions before she tps. Stay with team.
Spirit Breaker - Omniknight (guardian angel very op), wards, ghost scepter (physical hero)
Storm Spirit - Silence, disables, hex and DOOM REIGNS.
Sven - Disables, halberd, blademail.
Techies - Gem (it works with mines), wards. Dont let him suicide though.
Templar Assasin - Batrider and Sand King! Both heroes will drain her shield very quickly, making her food.
Terrorblade - Silence him, burst him, deny his farm. He is very squishy (even though he has some armor)
Tidehunter - BKB, especially when you are the disabler.
Timbersaw - Silences, desolator (vs his passive)
Tinker - Storm Spirit (will destroy him early game), Pudge (early game) and Doom (when he gets boots and blink)
Tiny - HP% based damage (for example phoenix's sun beam or enigma's midnight pulse), silences
Treant Protector - Silences and detection. He falls off late game, so make him useless early.
Troll Warlord - Ghost Scepter, Razor and Enchantress (that passive tho).
Tusk - Ghost Scepter and stuns (dont let him snowball!)
Undying - DONT FEED HIM EARLY, HE BECOMES USELESS LATE
Ursa - Drow (before he gets bkb), Viper (ez kill for viper), Nature's Prophet (trap him and tp away/destroy him, bonus points if you manage to get ur Treants inside) Halberd, Blademail
Vengeful Spirit - Disables. Dont let her swap.
Venomancer - BKB, he isn't hard to kill when he cant do much to you.
Viper - SILENCER! Viper's autocast DOESNT remove BOTH Curse of the Silent and Last Word!
Visage - Hunt his Familiars, shutdown him so he wont be able to use his W
Warlock - Silences, snipe his golems from a safe distance
Weaver - YOU'RE DOOM'D, Silences, disables, detection
Windranger - Dont shoot her when she is windrunning. Get out of here when she focus fired you.
Witch Doctor - Silence, BKB, Ghost Scepter (his ward is physical), long range ministuns/stuns (sniper for example), legion commander (MORE DMG!) and blademail (tank the ward to kill witch)
Wraith King - LATE GAME ANTI MAGE, WEX INVOKER, LION AND DIFFUSAL BLADE TO MELT HIS MANA SO HE WONT USE HIS ULT.
Zeus - BKB, Silencer to block his ult
