JGSP Ikarbus Ik-103 CNG

Description
Ikarbus was founded on November 20, 1923 in Novi Sad as the first aero and hydroplane factory in the Balkans. Its foundations were laid by Dimitrije Konjović, pilot, naval officer and famous Serbian industrialist. The first Ikarbus aircraft was produced as early as March 1924. It was a training aircraft of the "Brandeburg" type. The factory was moved to Belgrade in 1932. During the Second World War, the factory was pretty much destroyed by Allied bombing in 1944. After the liberation of Yugoslavia and the nationalization of the factory in 1946, production continued. In the period from 1951 to 1962, the military program of the Ikarus factory was completely replaced by a civilian program. By moving aircraft production to the new aircraft factory, SOKO Ikarus switches to the production of bodies for buses and delivery vehicles. In the 1970s, bus production began in the new factory next to the Belgrade-Zagreb highway.

The production plants of Ikarbus, with a capacity of 750 vehicles per year, are located in Zemun, near the "Nikola Tesla" Airport. The factory employs 750 workers of all profiles. In recent years, Ikarbus has been awarded a large number of important awards at prestigious international fairs (Belgrade, Moscow, Verona) and is officially the best corporate brand in the automotive industry in Serbia.

Ikarbus shutdown in 2022 due to bankruptcy and is now sitting abandoned.
