Description
Block's Combo Meters

Block's Combo Meters introduces combo mechanics common to various action games into the world of Terraria. With this mod, you can enjoy 2 client-sided combo systems, complete with vanilla-faithful UI and tons of config settings;

Letter Rank meter:
Deal damage with sufficient DPS to build your combo and gain letter-based ranks!
  • Rankings range from F to S (Or higher via. config!)
  • Your combo gradually drains over time, demanding increasing DPS levels to continue ranking
  • Ranking will scale as you progress since it's DPS based
  • Taking damage will substantially deplete your combo
  • Includes Rank Meter UI that displays your progress towards each rank

Hit Counter meter:
Counts up each hit you land, but resets if you fail to inflict damage for too long. Simple as that.
  • Introducing the 'Combo-Clock': UI that sits behind your hit count and spins to indicate how much time is left in your combo
  • By default, your combo ends after ~3 seconds without landing a hit
  • Your combo will immediately end if you take damage
  • When a combo ends, text will appear above your player to show the final hit count.

Customization:
As mentioned before, Block's Combo Meters has ALOT of config, including;
  • Meter choice: Toggle between the Letter Rank and Hit Counter meters, or use both at once! Meters track performance even when hidden
  • UI positioning: Move the meters around, they default to the left of the minimap
  • UI size: Both meters can be scaled from 50% to 200% of their default size
  • Display your way: Both meter type has many different visual styles to pick from!
  • Penalties(?): Adjust or remove combo penalties related to taking damage
  • Feedback: Both meters come with sound and visual feedback, which can be toggled and customized
  • And More: The majority of the aspects of both meters can be customized in some way!

Open Source
  • This mod is open-source under the GNU GPLv3 license. In short, you’re allowed to view and utilize code from the source if you’d like, but if you want to publish any work you did with it, that project will have to use the same license (GNU GPLv3). The mod's LICENSE file contains the full details of terms and conditions, etc.
  • You can access the source-code using tML's extract function (Found in-game on the mod's More Info page in your Mods List).

Final notes/disclaimers:
  • Combos have no affect on gameplay in terms of combat, only visual effects and audio feedback; if you're looking for a gameplay overhaul, this isn't it.
  • Shoutout to the Terrarian's Style Rank mod, by BlixerCZ, which inspired me to make a combo mod of my own. If you like DMC5 and/or want something more intricate or flashy, definitely check it out!

@m9wn, I'm not too great with UI code, which is why you can't resize the mod UI in the first place. I'm considering coming back to this mod briefly since there have been multiple requests for this and some other customization features, so I may try and take another swing at it.

It would be cool if you could change all of ranks to what you want like with the "Special Rank".

@Chosen, despite what you might think based on this mod, I'm not very experienced or good with UI. It'd be a hassle having to figure out offsetting draw positions based on size, and also I think it might conflict with the spinning of the Combo-Clock, which is actually split into 4 independent UI elements. Also, I'm more focused on other work right now, this mod's in a finished state.

I will note that the UI does properly scale with the built in UI-scale setting, but that affects all UI, which probably isn't what you're going for.
