Description
Ever wondered why your merc does not get any marksmanship upgrade although you just conquered 5 sectors and sniped all enemies? Because there is an internal cooldown and training point dependency!

Or you disarmed a whole mine field and ... nothing? Well you are only allowed to roll for a stat increases once per map!

Doesn't make much sense, you say? Well you are correct and I got you covered with freeing field experience gains from all those chains!

Play the way you like: one merc, huge squad, fast map progress, slow advances, ... without missing out due to hidden internal restrictions!

This mod is a revamp of field experience stat gain method. Increase lower stats faster and without stealing valuable training points for other stats.

Key features:
  • Removes internal cooldown and training point restrictions
  • Removes trigger chance limitation "once per map"
  • Balances chance for stat point increase to account for cooldown removal
  • Declining chance of stat gain the higher the stat already is
  • Wisdom above 50(configurable) now increases the chance of stat gaining (smarter mercs learn faster)
  • Chance to gain a stat point slowly increases if the merc has not received any increase for more than a character level
  • Adds team size dependent bonus chance for combat stat increases (DEX, STR, MRK) (because the stat increase triggers are distributed among more mercs)

Intended to be balanced and not create super soldiers in a few days. But mercs with eg. low marksmanship will level this up faster when using firearms regularly. The better the stat the lower the chance to gain another point. Therefore, increasing stats in the 90s needs to see more field usage to get a point.

Mod options are available to personalize your own experience:
  • Modifier for the success chance to get a stat point
  • Adjustment of the strength of the applied wisdom bonus
  • Setting for the minimal value of Wisdom at which a bonus to stat increase roll chance start to be applied
  • Activate / Deactivate a pity system, that increases the roll chance the longer the merc has not received stat points

To gain DEX you need to fulfil the prerequisite to trigger a DEX stat gain roll. Which are:
* Killed with an aimed shot (at least one aim)
* Killed with an aimed melee attack (at least one aim)
* Successful stealth kill
* Killed with a throwing knife

So if you run around guns blazing with burst firing weapons and rarely aim, let alone kill with aimed shot. Then its very likely that you almost never trigger a roll against a DEX stat gain and therefore as well dont see much DEX increases.

For me on the other side, who plays almost exclusively all maps with stealth and stealth aimed kills. Mex DEX already got like 30-40 points within the first 4-5 levels.

Oh ok. I'm asking because in 50h of playing I got only 1 point in DEX for my whole squad. I'm looking for a way to increase it because it seems impossible to raise compared to other stats.

@Monir No it only works as a whole for all stats combined. If you use a merc in various different fields you might never run into the "pity system" as you gain a lot of stats through that. But if you only use a merc in very specific tasks and you have already achieved pretty high stats that system might give you the edge to get another point or two. Thats what its meant to be.

Does the pity system work per stat ? For example if it has been a long time I didn't get a point in DEX, does it increase the chance to get a point in DEX, whatever the number of points I got for other stats ?

No update needed, mod should still work fine with game version 1.5

I could not identify any problem or conflict with update 1.5.

Patch 1.3 destroyed many mods it took more than 2 weeks for me to resume playing. I am seeing the same thing again.

I am starting to unlike Haemimont . . .

Updated Mod to work with game version 1.4

Unfortunately, Haemimont has once again changed the way mods interact with existing game code. It almost seems like they are trying to break mods on purpose :(

On top of that, the Mod Editor is a buggy mess and does not save to the files what you see in the GUI. Needed to find a workaround and hopefully it works for you es well.

Ran a short test and Mod should be fine for game version 1.4.....for now...until they break/change things once again :steamsad:
