Step 1: Finding The Save File
First, you have to find the save file you wish to add to the custom game start. There are two methods of finding the desired save file; method 1: if you are using a steam world for this, Such as this one, or Method 2: if you are using a local save.

Step 1.1: Method 1
Let's start with method 1; to find a Steam world's save file, we must navigate to where Steam saves workshop content once you've subscribed. First, you need to know what drive Space Engineers is saved to; if your computer only has one, it is easy as just going to your C: drive and going to
Program Files (x86) > steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 244850

If it is located on any other drive, skip the Program Files (x86), and it should be under SteamLibrary on that drive. If you do not remember what drive to which you installed Space Engineers, go onto Steam, right-click on space engineers in the left sidebar, and select Properties.

Then go to Installed Files, and it should say it there.

Next, we must find the Unique Workshop ID. We copy the workshop link to the desired workshop world to do this.

Once you have copied the workshop link, paste it into your browser or a quick Notepad document and cut out everything except the number at the end; then copy the number. Once you've done that, go back to the Space Engineers workshop directory and paste the workshop ID into the search bar, and it should come up with only one result as long as you are subscribed to the workshop item, and Steam has had time to download it. Once there, copy the entire folder; you will need it for step 2.

Step 1.2: Method 2
Now for method 2:

First, we have to locate the actual save directory. To do this, press Win + R and type
%Appdata%

Once you've done that, it should take you to
[Username] > AppData > Roaming
Once there, you should Type
SpaceEngineers
Into the search bar. You should get a result, click on it, and then you should be in your space engineers directory (different from Steam's one because this is where the game saves all sorts of custom files Eg. Saves, Blueprints, custom mods, screenshots, and other things).

Now go to
Saves > [Very Long Not useful Number]
. Once in there, search the name of the desired save file or scroll until you find it. Then once you find it copy the file and hold onto it: you'll need it for step 2.
Step 2: Adding the Custom World
Ok, Now we have to find where the game saves custom worlds.

Now you should go to your Steam library and right-click on space engineers on the left sidebar and go to:
Manage > Browse Local Files
;

Then it should bring you to your space engineers directory. Then go to
Content > Custom Worlds
. Once there, paste the folder you just copied into the directory and (if you did method 1) rename it to the name of the workshop item (or whatever you want). And now you have that workshop world (or save file) as a custom game start option.
