More-Scripted Betrayal Legacy

Description
A remix of Kii♡chan's Semi-Scripted Betrayal Legacy

Originally posted by BoardGameGeek:
Betrayal Legacy[boardgamegeek.com] marries the concept of Betrayal at House on the Hill — exploring a haunted mansion — with the permanency and multi-game storytelling exhibited by Daviau's Risk Legacy and other legacy games that followed. Betrayal Legacy consists of a prologue and a thirteen-chapter story that takes place over decades. Players represent families, with specific members of a family participating in one story, then perhaps an older version of those characters (assuming they lived) or their descendants showing up in later stories.

Why would people keep exploring a haunted mansion for decade after decade, especially when horrible things happen there? Curiosity, I suppose, or perhaps an ignorant boldness that comes from the belief that we know better than those who have come before. Look at all that we've learned, marvel at the tools we have at hand! Surely we'll all exit safely this time...

New Features

  • Search through tiles, events, and items using handy region buttons
  • Click Roller - click multiple times to easily roll multiple dice at once
  • Per-player hidden zones that are separate from their hand
  • Easy "Destroyed Items" container
  • Tablet that opens a text decal generator so putting text on a card isn't as challenging
  • Buttons to quickly clean up tiles and tokens after each chapter
  • New snap points near each player mat for horizontal cards that don't fit well in hands
  • New snap points along the bottom of the game board for placing new decks

I also added some helpful items to A's notes

Tag tiles, events, and items correctly!

The region search buttons require that each tile or card is correctly tagged. You can either use TTS's tags menu to add tags to each item, or you can use the "Tag" bags. Any item placed into and then removed from a "Tag" bag will gain the corresponding tag.

This wouldn't be possible without the work of a bunch of other creators. If you like this, please do check their work out!

I would either have someone with enough dice at their desk try the mechanic IRL, or do some other type of random roll to simulate the effect. Sometimes TTS can be (ab)used to create the effect, but I always discussed things with my group if I ran into those and picked whatever method enough of us were content using.

IDK when to better post this, here or in "original" mode, so...

In hunt 31 there are some dexterity elements involved. You need to stack 5 dices and then tip them... sadly this is nearly impossible to do correctly on TTS. What do you do in this situation to make it playable? Do some other type of random rolls to simulate this effect or what?..

midknight, you have the right idea when it comes to checkboxes. That's what my group did for those cards.

Doing item names is tricky and we never figured out a great system. One way is to use the "text decal generator" button that's above the survivor's zone. It'll create a tablet that's set to a text-to-png website. You can put the item name in that website and select "Download PNG" on whichever style you like. It should give you a URL that can be used as a new decal, and then just apply the decal to the card.

If that's not fully functioning, I recommend just renaming the card using the right-click menu. You can use the decal tool to stamp the name one letter at a time, but that requires more patience than I have :P

Likeninja, the key of the trap effect is in the last sentence (edited for clarity):
"If [the player that set the trap] is on or adjacent to the tile [of the triggered trap], [the player that set the trap] may choose to make a Knowledge roll [instead of rolling two dice]."

Haunt 74 Wrath of the Berserker. Hero tome states rolling 2 dice for trap effect. Results have a 5+ potential but is technically impossible to roll with 2 dice. How many dice are supposed to be rolled?

DocRider, sounds like some downloaded assets didn't load correctly. Try turning off "Mod Caching" under the first tab of the Tabletop Sim settings menu and then load the mod again. If you want to keep using mod caching you'll need to manually delete the bad images from your mod save location (a folder browser can be opened from first tab of the settings menu).

Update to my previous post: The tiles have fronts but no backs, and none of the landings/outside start tiles have fronts.

So some problems with this mod: 1) none of the tiles have any images on them; 2) there are pages missing from the rulebook; and 3) (this one is fixable on my end) there are no textures for the stat trackers.

Got it, thanks for the help.
