Elves of Ithilien
A Submod for Lord of the Rings: Realms in Exile

This submod allows the ruler of Gondor or Prince of Ithilien to invite Woodland Elves to settle the forests.

Mechanics

Once Sauron has been destroyed, a decision will become available to Invite Woodland Elves to Ithilien. Taking this decision will prompt elves from the woodland realm of Lasgalen to settle in the woods of Ithilien surrounding the sacred pool of Henneth Anûn.

If Legolas is alive and not the ruler of Lasgalen, he will lead the group personally, otherwise a random Lasgalendrim elf will be selected to lead.

Once the elves are settled, similarly to Edhellond, an event will fire that will allow you to switch to Legolas or the selected leader should you choose to do so.

Inviting elves to settle Ithilien will not only convert all forest lands in Northern Ithilien to Elven, but will also give a significant province buff to other forest regions in the province.

Compatibility

Requires Lord of the Rings: Realms in Exile . Compatibility with Lord of the Rings: Realms in Exile OPEN BETA is NOT guarunteed, so use at your own risk.

Localization for English as well as Russian thanks to @Hann .

No existing files are edited so all other submods should be compatible.

Load this mod after LotR: Realms in Exile . DO NOT use this mod with existing saves. A new game is required.

@lead: hey man, can i reverse engineer and take inspiration from your mod? im the dev of the 4th age submod and id want some of our stuff to align with your mods. i would possibly want to release an updated version as well

No that’s an intentional design choice. As long as Sauron is around Ithilien is going to be a warzone and the Elves aren’t going to want to settle there. There are several base mod decisions locked behind defeating Sauron too, this is not really any different.

Is there no way to ensure that we can invite the elves without having defeated Sauron? I know it doesn't make much sense, but personally I leave Sauron alive in order to have a constant threat and therefore an interest, after having defeated him there is nothing more to do.

Just a disclaimer, this submod should work fine with the Open Beta version of Realms. The only weird thing is you might have to temporarily switch your primary title back to Gondor after forming the Reunited Kingdom to take the decision. When the main version of Realms gets updated to V4 I’ll add the RuK as a title option for the decision

UPDATE 1.1.3

- Updated supported version to 1.10.* to remove warning
- Fixed special building incompatibility issues. Should now be fully compatible with all other submods regardless of load order.
