M577 APC From Aliens By Uncle T

Description
My take on the M577 Armored Personnel Carrier from the movie Aliens.

1,017 bricks.

It's definitely an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

NOTES!
- Due to some limitations in the game I've had to improvise a few parts. The wheels available in BR are bit too small so the rear end looks a little different for example.
- There are also a lot of slightly contradictory image resources online about the look of this vehicle so I've picked the parts that were best fits for this build from the various sources.
- Also, I didn't make the main gun turret slide away to the rear. I managed to come up with a solution that actually worked quite nicely but it required a few actuators connected to each other, and since acutators in the game are utterly useless when connected to each other and just become a floppy, bouncy, springy, flaily mess as soon as you put even a little weight or force on them I decided to make the turret stationary. If Fluppi ever fixes actuators so that they are as rigid as they should be I'd be happy to fix this. So any century now...
- I wanted to use the bigger gun for the main turret, but that would make it WAY too bulky, so until Fluppi gives us smaller weapons there's a stack of regular machineguns in there, and the smaller turret has staggered firing machine guns for that Gatling gun high rate of fire.

The M577 APC is armed with 2 x RE700 gatling cannons and 2 x Boyars PARS-150 phased plasma cannons (both a bunch of machine guns).
It's crewed by one driver and one commander, and it has room for 8 seated Marines. The real thing has room for 12 passengers but since Bob is a chunky boi... I could have reduced the size of the command station to fit more seats but I think 8 should do.

CONTROLS
Driver's seat
WASD / Alt+ WASD: Drive and steer. Note that this vehicle has 4-wheel steering as well as 4-wheel drive, so it behaves a bit differently when turning.
Auxiliary/PgUp-PgDn / Alt + Auxiliary/PgUp-PgDn: Adjustabler suspension for improved ground clearance.
L/Headlights: Headlights + Front turret sight illumination.
B/Beacon: Roof beacon.
Alt+ Arrow keys/Mouse: Control front turret.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Fire.

Commander's seat
Alt + Arrow keys/Mouse: Control main turret.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Fire.
L/Headlights: Main turret sight illumination.

Camera 1: Driver's view.
Camera 2: Front turret.
Camera 3: Main turret.
Camera 4: Reverse view.

Front door and side door opened with buttons on or next to them.
It is possible to walk through the side door and walk inside but Bob needs to crouch to fit.

DRIVING TIP!
Use manual gearbox and only first gear on any type of slightly rougher terrain and second gear on roads. Only use third gear if you're going in a very straight line on a very flat surface since the grip is horrible even with a shed load of ballast and spoilers.

Feel free to edit, but if you reupload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

And if we ever get actuators that can be connected to each other without turning into rubber I can finally add the retractable turret. I had a decent solution that worked pretty ok but for the bugged actuators that made the whole thing flop around like crazy.

Oh ok I've seen bug reports about old lights not working properly since the new scaleable lights have been introduced and for some reason the old ones were broken in the process, and I'm guessing it's the same deal with the wheels. Hopefully it won't be an issue once 1.7 is actually released. But thanks for letting me know, I'll make sur eto check once 1.7 is out that everything's ok. :)

Also, I will probably report soon

Well, all the lights just come right out like they aren't even attached, and the wheels break when I spawn it, but, again, this is only in the experimental version.

Its just that so many newer other mods can only work on 1.7, that's why I asked you about it. Otherwise, I will only be playing on the current version.

It would be very Brick Rigs to break all older builds with an update though. 😁

Glad you like it.
What is not working in 1.7?
I'm not going to start using 1.7 until it's officially released but AFAIK older builds should work. You might want to report it as a bug if 1.7 breaks older builds somehow.

Hey this is a really cool APC, as an aliens/casset futerisom fan I can say this is one of my favourite creations so far! But it currently doesn't work for version 1.7, just wondering if you can fix it or not, but ether way, brilliant creation!
