NULLIFIER: What Should You Dispel?

Dispel those buffs with Nullifier to increase your MMR.

[EARTHSHAKER]

ENCHANT TOTEM
Earthshaker's Enchant Totem is fully dispelable, an Earthshaker affected by Nullifier debuff won't be able to deal extra damage with Echant Totem.

Its a great way to reduce the damage output of an enemy Earthshaker, especially if its a core Earthshaker as majority of his damage comes from Enchant Totem.

[ELDER TITAN]

ASTRAL SPIRIT
By using Nullifier on Elder Titan, you will make sure he gains no additional damage & armor from his spirit.

As all agility heroes are hard countered by Elder Titan due to his crazy damage on top of base armor negation, using Nullifier on Elder Titan will ease your life by reducing his raw damage bonus from his spirit, rendering his base armor negation less effective, and reducing his tankiness that comes from spirits additional armor.

[LEGION COMMANDER]

OVERWHELMING ODDS (AGHANIM'S SHARD UPGRADE)
Legion Commander won't benefit from additional armor that comes with her Aghanim's Shard upgraded Overwhelming Odds when she is nullified.

PRESS THE ATTACK
Legion Commander won't heal nor gain additional move speed, since Press the Attack is fully dispelable.

Note that 1.5s Debuff Immunity from level 25 talent isn't dispelable.

[OGRE MAGI]

FIRE SHIELD
Fire Shield ability that comes with Aghanim's Shard is fully removed by Nullifying the target, considering 85% damage resistance for 3 hits can actually be game changing depending on situation, it is often good idea to buy a Nullifier to dispel it if Ogre insists on buffing key targets with it.

[OMNIKNIGHT]

HEAVENLY GRACE
Nullifier is hands down the best item you can buy against Omniknight, as Heavenly Grace is a dramatically impactful buff especially when cast on strength heroes, immediately removing both plus strength & plus health regen buffs from the target.

GUARDIAN ANGEL
While Guardian Angel is an AoE ability, you can dispel one of the targets affected by it with Nullifier, and focus bringing them down afterwards.

[PRIMAL BEAST]

ONSLAUGHT
Primal Beast can't charge forward while nullified.

UPROAR
Uproar is dispelled by Nullifier, nullifying the Primal Beast will effectively remove his additional armor + attack damage.

[SLARDAR]

GUARDIAN SPRINT
By removing Guardian Sprint, you will cripple all of Slardar's mobility.

[SPIRIT BREAKER]

BULLDOZE
Roughly the same case as dispelling Guardian Sprint ability of Slardar, you will cripple Spirit Breaker's mobility, and remove his super strong defensive tool of +70% status resistance.

[SVEN]

WARCRY
Warcry is fully removed by Nullifier, unless Sven has an Aghanim's Shard, its usually not a wise idea to buy Nullifier for the sole purpose of dispelling Warcry as Sven can solve it for 1400 gold.

[BLOODSEEKER]

BLOODRAGE
Bloodrage is the entire DPS tool of Bloodseeker, without additional attack speed bonus from Bloodrage he loses out on so much auto attack damage.

If Bloodseeker has an Aghanim's Shard, he won't benefit from its additional pure damage & healing while nullified, making Nullifier a very strong purchase against him.

[MONKEY KING]

JINGU MASTERY
By nullifying Monkey King, you will remove both his lifesteal and additional damage, he can still buildup stacks on you while nullified, but all stacks on his main hero will immediately get dispelled while he is nullified.

[URSA]

OVERPOWER
Similar to Bloodseeker, Ursa suffers a lot from being nullified, since he loses access to his main DPS tool.

[GRIMSTROKE]

INK SWELL
Dispelling Ink Swell will cause it to immediately explode, dealing damage & stunning enemies around Grimstroke depending on how long it affected them for, so its a good idea to use Nullifier as soon as you see someone buffed with Ink Swell.

[LESHRAC]

NIHILISM
Nihilism ability of Leshrac that comes with Aghanim's Scepter is fully dispelable, so Nullifier helps a lot to be able to auto attack Leshrac.

[LICH]

FROST SHIELD
Frost Shield is an incredibly strong defensive tool as it gives 70% damage reduction with level 10 talent, dispelling it is most likely going to be crucial.

[ORACLE]

FATE'S EDICT
If you are a spellcaster thats getting constantly screwed by +100% magic resist Oracle gives their allies or himself, Nullifier is your answer.

[PUGNA]

DECREPIFY
Decrepify is almost always an annoying ability to deal with, as it can save both Pugna himself or his allies from physical damage threats, Nullifier solves this problem.

[TINKER]

DEFENSE MATRIX
Removing Defense Matrix means Tinker is not going to have shield or additional status resistance, which means a single tick of damage will cause his Blink Dagger to go on cooldown, which often will result in his demise.

[ABADDON]

APHOTIC SHIELD
Similar to Ink Swell, Aphotic Shield will immediately explode when its dispelled.

[DARK SEER]

SURGE
Surge is fully dispelable, Nullifier will remove Dark Seer's mobility, making it easier for you to chase & catch him.

[MAGNUS]

EMPOWER
You can remove empower from Magnus himself or his allies that has been buffed by him, reducing their damage output and removing their additional cleave.

[MARCI]

SIDEKICK
Nullifying Marci means she loses access to additional damage & lifesteal, making it harder for her to manfight you.

[TIMBERSAW]

REACTIVE ARMOR (AGHANIM'S SCEPTER UPGRADE)
Damage barrier granted by Aghanim's Scepter upgraded Reactive Armor is removed by dispelling it, similar to Ink Swell & Aphotic Shield, Reactive Armor will explode too, dealing damage around Timbersaw.

[WINDRANGER]

WINDRUN
Windrun doesn't only cripples Windranger's mobility, but also removes her only reliable defensive tool, though it won't be possible to dispel it once Windranger hits level 25 and chooses undispelable Windrun talent.

[ITEMS]

PAVISE
Pavise's damage barrier is removed by Nullifier.

GLIMMER CAPE
Glimmer Cape's damage barrier & invisibility is removed by Nullifier, this is super good because you don't need to carry detection with yourself against Glimmer Cape'd targets.

EUL'S SCEPTER OF DIVINITY & WIND WAKER
Both items are dispelable by Nullifier, keep in mind you can cast Nullifier on targets that are floating to immediately bring them down.

CRIMSON GUARD
Crimson Guard is removed by basic dispels, thus removed by Nullifier as well, your DPS will jump up with Nullifier against targets buffed with Crimson Guard's active, especially if your hero hits fast but not so hard.

SOLAR CREST
Additional armor, attack speed & move speed bestowed by Solar Crest is fully removed by Nullifier.

AEON DISK
Aeon Disk is removed by Nullifier, note that Aeon Disk will still trigger, applying a strong dispel to its wielder, but they won't be unkillable for 2.5 seconds.

GHOST SCEPTER & ETHEREAL BLADE
Similar to how its important to dispel Decrepify, its important to dispel Ghost Scepter or Ethereal Blade from your target to be able to keep auto attacking them.

CLOSING WORDS

There are probably dozens of more abilities (or items) I didn't include in this guide that can be dispelled by Nullifier, but its simply because they are not worth mentioning as you won't be buying Nullifier solely for them, all of those buffs I stated in this guide are worth using Nullifier on, though generally defensive items, such as Ghost Scepter or Glimmer's Cape should be prioritized to dispel, rather than offensive abilities enemies have.

@LustyQ.ICANT Aeon Disc will not dispel nullifier, just tested it and they didn't become invulnerable at all.

pro tip for aeon: make sure to pop nullifier AFTER aeon triggers, if you do it before aeon trigger - nullify effect will dispel
