Description
"Industry" is a mod adding a variety of supplementary buildings, recipes, and plants from the VSER(Visser Star Empire-Rebellion) Universe to Rimworld. Namely, a portable fabrication bench with all new textures(Does not modify the vanilla one) for making any future VSER Mod items, even without any other VSER Mods, you gain access to Synthread-Plants, the ability to craft hyperweave and plasteel. Also the rare but handy, Matter-Energy Generator that can be powered by common rocks and wood. Or the Energy-Matter Converter that produces x200 steel every several days so long as it is powered.

All of the contents of this mod are found in the "Advanced Industrial Technology" research for 200 points + prerequisites of Fabrication and Advanced Fabrication from the vanilla research tree.

The "Advanced 3D-Fabricator" is a small 2x2-portable fabrication workbench that can be placed on Light Terrain unlike vanilla Fabrication benches. The 3D Fabricator costs the same as a fabrication bench. It will contain any current and future VSER weapons and apparel recipes. They will only show up in this workbench if you have the appropriate pack installed. Otherwise this bench contains the ability to build components, advanced components, plasteel, and hyperweave. This bench is therefore useful and unobtrusive for any high-tech player regardless if you are doing a heavily-modded or lightly-modded playthrough. No big giganto bench that you have to somehow squeeze into your already bloated 20x20 tile workshop. This baby squeezes right into any nook or cranny you got and can be brought with you on a roadtrip without short-circuiting in rain! Still needs 250w just like the Fabrication Bench though!
Plasteel Fabrication:
1 Component
20 Steel
10 Synthread
=
50 Plasteel

Hyperweave Fabrication:
1 Advanced Component
20 Synthread
10 Plasteel
=
50 Hyperweave

"Synthread Plants" added by this mod are just like vanilla Cotton! Except they grow synthread, require 8 Planting skill, and have their own plant textures. Unlike cotton these are not obtainable without researching the above tech. You might ask, "Isn't that a lot of synthread?" Why yes, yes it is. But if you look at how much you need for every single thing on the planet that requests synthread then that amount isn't so bad after all is it. Why should your colonists continue to wear dog leather shirts or utilize Old-fashioned (from a spacer perspective) Crude Oil pumping mods when you can use your knowledge to plant genetically modified synthread plants to give lil' jimmy his brand new synthread shirt and throw out that old birdleather raggedy thing he's been wearing for over 20 years in merely a week of growing! No more shall you have to scrounge up some old flea-bitten animal for clothes. You have amassed Marine Armor for your entire colony, built massive advanced structures, time to throw out the old-fashioned clothes for brand new synthread clothes!

The "Matter-Energy Reactor" is an exotic reward just like the archotech vanometric power cell. However it has a twist. The vanometric power cell is infinite but only provides 1,000W. This Matter-Energy Reactor should you acquire it, is powered by up to 10 stones or wood every 16 in-game hours, and provides 5,000W. It is best paired with batteries to offset the short up-time. It is still the same size as the vanometric power cell and just as portable. It is not recommended to use this without batteries as your pawns will have to constantly refill it. But on the other hand if you have so many rocks or wood your not sure what to do with, well this is one way to use them. The rock or wood chosen is randomly selected from the map your colony is on (it requires more advanced coding than I have knowledge in order to make the fuel-type select-able) The M-E Reactor will not utilize rare mineable materials like gold or jade.

The "Energy-Matter Converter" is an exotic reward just like the archotech infinite chemreactor, currently it only produces x200 steel every 2 days. In the future it will be changed to be select-able what raw material you want out of it. It requires 500W to power. (It's the Necron-Looking thing in the thumbnail)

(A variant of the "3D Fabricator" called the "Advanced Fabrication Bench" does the exact same thing but takes slightly more space. It is intended to have all fabrication bench recipes and not just VSER mod stuff. But I don't know how to do that yet. So for now it's just a slightly wider and aesthetic version of the 3D Fabricator.)

VSE-Rebellion is currently a tabletop universe created by me and a few other collaborators over the past several years and is still WIP. It involves far too many sci-fi influences to name here but the usual big names are in the mix. I have personally worked on several mod packs the past three months which are in their final stages of testing and will be released soon. If you are curious as to the tabletop itself and would like to help test it please feel free to contact me via comments or my profile. (Currently GothMoth, I change my profile name a lot).
PSS: I will not be updating this for a long time due to life circumstances, if it for some reason is broken while I am unavailable I grant permission to update or fix the mod so long as you provide credit to me. Thanks, enjoy the mod!

Hey everyone, headsup you'll need harmony and vanilla expanded framework from now on. I needed to use vanilla expanded framework for the auto-patching function. The fabricator I had as a placeholder can now make all recipes that use the vanilla machining table and fabrication bench. Has the speed buffs, portability, and rain-proofing you've come to enjoy. A tailoring bench has also been added that does the same job in regards to the vanilla tailoring bench. Enjoy!

Gargantuan update just now, I'll describe all the new stuff in an hour in a discussion on the mod. The mod should be ready for 1.5. let me know if it has issues.

@Sir Luis thanks! I'm working on wrapping up my other mods that I procrastinated on(Got to make like 21+ textures for apparel and armor and finish balancing my next gun mod). Sometime in the coming months I intend to start teaching myself a bit more XML and C# to add more functionality so I can add plasteel to the EM-Converter as a toggle-able option. It would mean less mod-bloat. If you enjoy the mod please leave it a thumbs up so others can find it on the steam workshop!

i subbed im interested mostly in The "Energy-Matter Converter" for the steel.
i think its fine making just steel. but if u want to make another version then plasteel would be nice.
