SoundSense Originals

Description
Adds Dwarven Music (2012) and Songs of Saltfork (2015) by Simon Swerwer to the in-game music rotation, originally appearing in the SoundSense utilty.

Includes 20 tracks for a 1 hour runtime, among them the original Koganusan mix and vocal party songs.

Disclaimer:
This is not the same as the SoundSense utility. This mod runs off in-game music raws and is loaded into a world, while the utility reads gamelog.txt. It can be found at http://df.zweistein.cz/soundsense/

Credits:
The raws are free use. Feel free to reverse-engineer or fork.

Actual SoundSense running parallel to the game is still a thing. I think that the v50 audio raws should support the "play sound for announcement" system that most of the default pack is based on, if you wanted a native implementation.

Is there any chance for a mod that also adds ALL the sound effects from Soundsense inio Stream DF? That is the major thing besides the music that i miss in the Steam edition..
A lot of sounds im used to are gone, so its hard to audibly know what is going on in the fort (especially combat sounds, job completions, strange moods etc).
I always use my ears more than my eyes =(

That should be correct.

Thanks for your reply :) No, I don't see anything related to the music files in the errorlog. I've tried searching it for a few keywords, but to no avail. When I start DF and load my game, only one new line is added to the errorlog.txt and it's unrelated to the music.

The full path were I put the mod's files is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\vanilla\vanilla_music

the folder now contains:

objects\
> music_d.txt
> music_standard.txt
> sound_d.txt
> sound_standard.txt

sounds\
> *.ogg (all music files)
> music_file_d.txt

info.txt (the original file, not the one from your mod)

Adding your music to my current game should work this way, right?

The mod has everything it needs to load new music files and define playing logic. Does your errorlog say anything?

Thanks for creating this! But I can't get this to work in my current game :(
I tried adding it to the vanilla files by placing the objects and sounds folders inside the vanilla_music folder. (there is no vanilla_sounds folder)

I also tried a few other folders, but nothing seems to work. I've also looked into the Wiki, but adding to the vanilla music files isn't really explained..

Installing the mod is all you need to do. I did set the songs to play only in certain conditions, and now that we have the adventure soundtrack that's another set of songs that are competing for priority.
It might also be a perceptual thing, since Simon also worked on the official soundtrack. Songs from this mod should just list Simon and not Dabu in the pause menu.

I don't think I've heard any of these tracks play in fortress mode. Are there any additional steps to take beyond installing the mod on world creation as you would any other mod?

YES

There still aren't raws for the adventure mode soundtrack. There's a possibility that they might play, since I've heard Fortress themes in Adventure, but that's probably hardcoded.
