Inventory Tetris - Grid Based Inventory Overhaul Beta [B41]

Descripción
The B41 verison of this mod is no longer actively developed.
It still works fine, but compatibility issues with other mods are likely.

The B42 version contains nearly 2 years of additional work in the form of new features, fixes, and significantly improved mod compatibility.

Inventory Tetris
Inventory Tetris is a comprehensive inventory overhaul for Project Zomboid.
  • The inventory is replaced with a grid based system.
  • All items now have a size.
  • See inside all your equipped bags at once
  • Bags now provide additional inventory space, not just weight reduction.
  • Worn items do not take up inventory space.
  • No more shoving 3 boxes of cereal and a carton of milk in your pants.

Search Mode!
Use sandbox settings when creating your world to enabled searching!
When enabled, containers must be searched before they can be looted.

High FPS Tetris
For a smoother experience disable this option (Increases system requirements):
Options -> Display -> UI -> UI Offscreen Rendering

CONTROLS
  • Drag and Drop - Almost everything can be dragged and dropped across the inventory
  • Split Stacks - Drag and drop while holding CTRL
  • Popup Window! - Double click on containers to open them in a popup window
  • Quick Gather - Double click on stackable items to quickly gather them up
  • Rotate items - Press R*
  • Quick Move - Hold CTRL + Left Click
  • Quick Equip - Hold ALT + Left Click
Check out keybinds and mod options to customize these controls!

TRAITS
Inventory Tetris makes sure to give new uses to the vanilla traits related to the inventory!
  • Organized - When using quick move, items will ALWAYS stack. If they cannot stack, they will always be placed into the first available slot of the grid.
  • Disorganized - When using quick move, items will not always stay stacked and will end up in a random spot in the grid. Cannot autosort (in the future when its added).
  • Neither - The container receiving the items will determine what happens.

  • Dextrous - Faster container searching.
  • All Thumbs - Slower container searching.

Mod Options
You may also install Mod Options to access a few settings for UI scaling.
Very useful on high resolution displays or when playing on a TV.

FAQ
Why BETA?
The mod is mostly complete and very stable, however, it still needs some polish here and there. Further, the mod was a huge undertaking and it will inevitably need some additional balancing and tweaks in response to player feedback.

Multiplayer Support?
The mod works fine in multiplayer from my testing. As usual, report any bugs you encounter and I'll fix them ASAP.

Can I add/remove this on existing saves?
Yes.
Inventory Tetris can added/removed at any point without issue.
(Note: When adding the mod the player may drop items to the ground if they do not have enough space.)

How do items from other mods works?
Inventory Tetris automatically examines items from other mods and determines what size they should be.

Make My Own Changes?
Inventory Tetris includes some very easy to use dev tools that can be used to quickly create compatibility/balance packs to provide more fine tuned support for popular mods or fit your personal tastes.
GUIDE HERE - By Lily

yeah i agree with brett i think it's cool but doesn't really fit into project zomboid like it should with other games such as tarkov

The grid really shines in organizing inventory not looting imo

Played it for a few hours. And it did work as intended with no problems. But I'm finding the grid based looting system just doesn't quite feel right in a game like this, list feels much more natural especially when you have a lot to loot.

I cannot interact with a metal drum to add 5 logs in it. There's a way to equip the 5 log in my main inventory?

also side note, EquipmentUI works with Alternative Inventory Rendering, but does Tetris do anything when paired with it? Or should you not use them together. I've been using them on my server with AIR first then Tetris after and haven't had any problems but not sure if it's actually doing anything either.

I'm aware this isn't being developed anymore, but some insight into this stack trace from more intelligent eyes would be so much appreciated.

Everything seems to be working great, but rarely I'll get these two stack trace errors pop up: https://pastebin.com/1KF6bUDf relating to NotScope.lua and 'getorcreatesearchsession'.'

Is a mod conflict able to be pinpointed from the code?

Great mod, but when I open my inventory in game my FPS goes from 200+ to 110+:steamsad:
