Intro:

The Sd.Kfz.251 was seen as a real improvement for infantry mobility, and added weight to the doctrine of using motorized infantry to accompany the tanks. It was also a well-known propaganda tool in the newsreels, which led most of the Germans into thinking that the bulk of the German infantry was carried by these armored vehicles. - The Tank Encyclopedia[tanks-encyclopedia.com]

Features:

LeftCtrl + 1/2 toggles ON/OFF the driver armoured shields

6 variants:
  • Sdkfz 251/1 (grey and dunkelgelb) -> driver, mg42, 6 passengers
  • Sdkfz 251/21 (grey and dunkelgelb) -> driver, gunner (x3 mg151), passenger
  • Sdkfz 251/22 (grey and dunkelgelb) -> driver, gunner (APCB + HE), passenger

-> When shooting any of the 4 main track wheels (check images) with any AT or heavy damage weapon, both acceleration and speed will decrease incrementally by 25% up to 27% of its original value when all 4 of them are destroyed

-> Engine can be damaged by direct fire (check images), reducing it's mobility

Scripted features:
  • Destructible decorative elements randomization on spawn
  • Working lights (press T to toggle them ON/OFF), set ON by default when playing on night maps, compatible with Lezvin's amazing night/day cycle mutator (here)

fair enough. i've also observed that the half-tracks, when driven by bots, are struggling significantly with slopes that other vehicles can easily climb. for instance, they are unable to ascend the slope leading to the farm spawn point on the vanilla map island

cool maybe sd.kfz with 37mm pak and 2,8-cm-schwere Panzerbüchse 41 and 20mm Flak and 75mm stummel gun

The mg gunner is the only one who should be able to shoot. By design, having all 6 passengers able to shoot wouldn't be good for gameplay imo. Also, the passengers are mostly protected by the armor anyway
