"AJ-203 Jolly Rogers"
This means:
Tail code AJ. Nose number 203. Assigned to VF-84 (Jolly Rogers).
VF-84 flew F-14 Tomcats from 1977 to 1995, with tail code AJ (meaning they were part of Carrier Air Wing 8). AJ203 was an F-14A, BuNo 160413, manufactured October of 1978, retired and stored after VF-84 was shut down in 1995 and finally scrapped in 2008.
Watch the movie "The Final Countdown," and you'll see why this skin looks the way it does. You'll also see AJ203, and why almost every F-14 model kit in the 80's included the decals to make your kit into AJ203.
