Dead Space First Person Mod and How to Install It

This is simple step by step guide on how to install the newly released immersive Dead Space First Person mod.

Necessary downloads

Before we can install the mod you first need head over Nexus Mods and download the Dead Space First Person Mod. Click here[www.nexusmods.com] and you'll be taken directly there. Download the file and extract them to your desktop

After downloading the Dead Space First Person mod next you are going to need cheat engine to install the mod. If you don't have cheat engine installed head to their website and make sure to download it

WARNING: Make sure to not accidentally have cheat engine running while starting up or playing any multiplayer games with a anti-cheat. It may result in an accidental ban.

How to Install The Mod

First you are going to want to make sure Cheat Engine is open then start up Dead Space. Next you are going to alt tab after starting the game and then head over to cheat engine and click on the glowing red and green icon seen here

This will open the process selector and from here you are going to click on Dead Space and open it


























After doing this next you are going to click on the icon with the file and the green arrow seen here on the right or alternatively you can use the shortcut by pressing CTRL+O. This will open you PC's file explorer.

From here you are going to find the Nexus Mod file that you extracted to your desktop. Open that file in the file explorer then select the Dead Space (2008) First Person mod cheat engine file.

After doing this the mod should be successfully installed. You will know it is installed correctly because the mod will appear in cheat engine in this section here.



Finally to activate the mod click on empty box under active in cheat engine until there is a red X like seen below here. There is a slight delay in activation when clicking here to activate so give it sometime. At least that was the case on my PC. If there is no red X in the box under active that means the mod is not currently active. The red X must be there to use the mod.

The Mod Controls List

First Person Activate - Press the Home key (switch to first person)

First Person Deactivate - Press the End key (switch to third person)

FOV 5 - Press Key 5 or Delete (switch to FOV 5)

FOV 6 - Press Key 6 (switch to FOV 6)

FOV 7 - Press Key 7 (switch to FOV 7)

FOV 8 - Press Key 8 (switch to FOV 8)

FOV 9 - Press Key 9 (switch to FOV 9)

FOV 0 / Default Press Key 0 or Page Down (switch to FOV 0)

First Person Controller Toggle - Press the Page Up key (takes 3-5 seconds before all scripts are toggled on)

Notes From The Mod Developer

This mod is not without its flaws

This mod is not for the faint of heart, snowflake or inexperienced player

This mod do not have the luxury of seeing Isaac's stats while in first person

Isaac may die a lot while you control him in first person, you're responsible for keeping him alive, if he dies that's on you

Switching to third person to take a quick glance at Isaac's stats I cannot stop you from doing, however, by doing so you'll be breaking the immersion of the first person experience

Listen to Isaac's breathing, monitor his heart rate and sprint speed, stock up on health and stasis packs to use as often as needed

Notes and Possible Troubleshooting

I've tested installing the mod multiple times and it can be installed at the main menu and activated from the very start of the game as seen here in this screenshot



However, if you are running into issues getting the mod to activate I recommend not installing the mod until you get full control over Issac as seen here.

@ISB After installing the mod are you able to mess with the third person FOV by pressing 5 through 9 at least? That will at least tell you the mod has been installed correctly. From there you may just have to press your keys until you find another key the will activate it since you don't have home on your keyboard. I wish I could help further but I am only an English American keyboard

Ah, using a german Keyboard and we dont have the "Home"-key like that, instead we have the "Pos1" on the Number 7. I`ve tried to activate the Mod with the same key combination and it just won`t work. Any ideas on how to get it going ?.
