This is my very first attempt to make a unique hero, I mainly did this to see what I can achieve with my pretty limited knowledge with heroes and to have reference material for WH2's porting reasons.
In its current state, this custom hero is pretty much barebones: no custom dedicated skills and no custom ancillaries.
I'll probably try to make some custom ancillaries and *MAYBE™* (those skill-related tables are cursed, I swear) some custom skills for possible future updates.
And now we can talk about the content of this mod.

This mod adds a custom Legendary Hero for the Dwarfs: Dannath Blackmore, captain of Karaz-a-Karak.
He's available for all of the Dwarf factions in custom battles but he's exclusive to Thorgrim's faction in campaign.
He spawns through a script command at the very start of the campaign and he's placed close to Karaz-a-Karak and Thorgrim's starting army.
And that's pretty much it.

Ok, presentation over: let's dive into the technical stuff!

*COMPATIBILITY*

Should work with pretty much everything.

*KNOWN ISSUES*
-Minor clipping here and there.
-Custom portrait and porthole don't work in campaign. FIXED 24/10/23
-If you are experiencing weird glowing effects on the units then please use this mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2922534576 until CA officially fixes that issue.
-Missing textures with certain graphic settings/while looking from certain angles: LOD issues/missing textures issues can be caused by low settings, LOD mods, Immortal Empires BETA bugs and/or even some faulty version of H3ro asset editor.
Translated= I generally can't do anything about that.
If you are experiencing low poly models+missing textures related to the current state of the game there isn't a common solution that works for everyone, but I managed to fix that by doing the following:
-Disable Sharpening
-Enable FXAA
-Enable Unlimited video memory

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you...when the mod status change from updated to outdated....if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff....know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif


...But jokes aside: please don't do that.
When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

*QA*

-"I checked the skill tree but I can't find the Immortal skill, is this intended?"
Yes, because (assuming that I didn't mess up) he should be immortal since turn one.

-"Does this mod work for AI too?"
Didn't test that but it should.

-"If this mod works for AI too can I get him with X Dwarf faction through confederation?"
Didn't test that but theoretically you should be able to do that.

-"Is this lore-friendly?"
Nope, this guy is 100% fanmade.

-"Lord's Red line?Tech buffs?"
I gave him generic Dwarf character and Thane sets, so he should get buffs related to those sets.

-"SFO/Radious ecc. ?"
As a matter of fact I'm officially retired from SFO/Overhaul related mods.
As always: If you already have previous experience in SFO submodding feel free to make an SFO version out of any of my mods that are currently missing one, I will link your submods if you provide me with a link.

-"Your mods are ugly and janky, why? just why?"
Here's a friendly reminder: I'm just an amateur and nothing more.
If you want beautiful stuff with no jank then stick with CA and/or professional modders and avoid my mods, simple as that really.

Man, thank for updating the mods, i can imagine the amnount of work needed to update all cdir in you unit mods. Legend :TalismanCrown:

Agreed.
Which is exactly why the mod description says the following "In its current state, this custom hero is pretty much barebones: no custom dedicated skills and no custom ancillaries."
This custom "unique hero" is nothing more than a glorified Thane atm.

I feel like he could have a unique addition to his skill tree. Right now he feel bland and generic other than his appearance and his trait. Good job so far.

I finally managed to fix Dannath custom card and porthole in campaign by using Selfiehammer!
They are not exactly what I would call "good looking" custom card and porthole but they are surely better than the lil goblin unit card and the ever-changing porthole to something random.

p.s. No idea if the update is save compatible though, so you might need to start a new campaign in the worst case, sorry for the possible trouble.
