Description
FOR VERSION 1.3!
My second and improved version of the Swedish J 35F Draken (the Dragon). I built it in a day so it's not super detailled but it flies well, shoots cannons and rockets and can do an approximation of the Cobra manoeuvre. :)

It is an approximation and not a 1:1 replica.

This is a ground attack version armed with 2 x 30 mm Akan m/55 automatic cannons (switched to the HE type) and 12 x 135 mm Srak m/56 unguided rockets.

Due to its for the time unconventional wing shape the Draken was the first known plane to be able to perform the Cobra manoeuvre. *

Alt controls to fly!
W/S: Variable throttle. Hold W for extra boost/"afterburner", useful when turning.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw
Up/Down arrows: Pitch.
Left/Right arrows: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear.
Hold X/Invert steering: Air brakes.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Fire auto cannons (up to 10 shot burst).
Fire action 2-7/Num 2-7: Fire rockets in pairs.
Fire action 8/Num 8: Help to approximate the Cobra manoeuvre. *

Camera 1 - Target acquisition.

WARNING!
Be very gentle with the throttle when taking off, and start pitching up early to avoid the plane balancing only on the front wheel when accelerating.

* Cobra manoeuvre: The plane abruptly raises its nose momentarily to a vertical and slightly past vertical attitude, causing an extremely high angle of attack and momentarily stalling the plane, making a full-body air brake before dropping back to normal position, during which the aircraft does not change effective altitude.
Of course this Draken can't do exactly that but with the help of an extra flap (Num 8) and full pitch up (Down arrow) you can get the nose up reasonably high and brake the plane before going nose down again. The effect is even greater if you decrease the throttle before or during the manoeuvre.

Feel free to edit, but if you re-upload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

This one is a quick build (16 hours) but still looks a lot better than the old one.

Because the old one looks really rough and it's not to scale and has some poor proportions. And I needed a break from updating planes to 1.3. 😁
