Daewoo Tico SX

Production of the Daewoo Tico in South Korea began in 1991 as a licensed version of the Japanese Suzuki Alto, offered in parallel since 1988. The vehicle was characterized by a 5-door body, which stood out from the competition's 3-door cars.
The Tico was also characterized by a relatively rich standard equipment - top versions had a central lock, electric front windows and a radio. Tico's shortcomings included a low level of security.
The body was characterized by considerable stiffness. In order to increase safety, reinforcements have been used in the front doors. During the tests, the reliability of the braking system was highly appreciated. The front wheels are equipped with disc brakes and the rear wheels with drum brakes. The turning radius was 4.4 m.
The volume of the trunk was 120 l, but it could be increased to 450 l with the rear seat folded down. The advantage was the wide rear opening, which facilitated loading. The payload of the Tico was 375 kg, the total weight was 1015 kg. Tico was sold in many countries of the world, including Latin American countries, where it was known as Daewoo Fino.
