SSN 69 Compact Nuclear Submarine (Updated V1.5)

Description
My first shot at making a hybrid electric/nuclear submarine. It is pretty stable and I have done my best to make it compact and easy to use as well as aesthetically pleasing. It has a relatively low part count so it wont cause any lag. The reactor manages itself and will not melt down. It can be driven from the sail by turning the sub on then going up to the sail and clicking the drive from here button. This helps with docking. It has a dive station in the stern of the boat you can use to exit the sub while underwater. The hatch in the bunk room allows you to inspect the reactor (make sure the ballasts are empty or you'll flood the sub).

Still a work in progress so if you have any tips or suggestions let me know!

Stats:
Top Speed: around 35 knots
Cruise Speed: 29 Knots @ 30 power
Endurance: 8-10 Hours

Weapons:
One ICBM
Two self guided torpedos
Four sea mines
Mini Sub with C4

Latest Update (V1.5):
-Fixed the depth hold on mini sub
-Fixed the issue where boiler would not get hot enough to produce power
-Added some cosmetic changes

(V1.4):
-Added an ICBM by PotatoFury. Instructions below
-Added the ability to jetison the mini sub

(V1.3):
-Added a mini sub "SDV" that can be deployed to explore or attached to enemy vessels allowing for the placement of C4. The sub can be re-docked to the main sub and charged. It is easily deleted if thats not your thing. Instructions on how to use it below
-Replaced the 3rd torpedo with 4 sea mines that can be deployed to destroy following ships
-Added access to the nose of the submarine to allow for the repair of all the logic in the event the front of the sub is damaged. This can be accessed through the floor hatch near the bunks
-Added a third circuit breaker labelled "Bus Tie". This allows the auxiliary batteries to be charged off the drive system in the event that the auxiliary generator cant keep up and the battery gets low
-Changed what emergency gear is stored near the medical bed to better deal with potential emergencies

(V1.2):
-Added a deployable towed sonar array which is super easy to use! More information below
-Fixed the issue where the sub would do loops when large depth changes were entered on the depth hold
-Made the torpedo station a little more user friendly and the torpedos more reliable (added a modified version of SID V's torpedos, link to their build at the bottom)
-Added a noisemaker to the towed array
-Cleaned up the reactor control station to make it look better
-Added some more interior decorations
-Added a basic stability system to stop the submarine from tipping over while cruising on the surface

(V1.1):
-Changed the cockpit to be more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing
-Added control descriptions to the torpedo control chair
-Added a Vertical Navigation Display by: notmopman https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2922138898
-Added some decoration to the sleeping area

Known Issues/Planned Updates:
-After recent SW updates, the weapons are not 100% reliable so I will need to fix them
-Fix the issue where the submarine does loops when large depth changes are entered into the depth hold DONE
-Improve reliability and effectiveness of torpedos DONE
-Make the torpedo/weapon control station more user friendly DONE
-Make a more sophisticated stability system so I can remove the small control fins
-Make the interior more aesthetically pleasing
-Clean up the logic to make it easier for others to modify
-I am working on a deployable towed sonar array that will allow better detection of targets and allow you to use active sonar without making the submarine itself a target, all anti radiation weapons will be attracted to the towed sonar and keep the submarine safe. This should be ready on my next update DONE

How to Start Reactor:
1. Enter the cockpit and turn on the two circuit breakers at the back wall
2. Sit in reactor control seat and unlock with the key
3. Hit the locked button next to the key
4. Wait 2-3 minutes while the reactor warms up and you're good to go!

How to Drive:
1. Sit in pilot seat and turn on lights and set speed with the right throttle
2. Click fill ballast switch to start filling the ballast (click the switch again to empty)
3. For depth hold type the desired depth into small keypad and click the depth hold button (if you try dive before the ballasts are full the tail will rise above the water and it wont dive. If this happens just gently dive manually using the W key and once the front fins are under water you can turn on depth hold. If the ballast are full then it will dive with no issues)

How to Fire Torpedos:
1. Arm the torpedos with the key to the right of the pilot seat
2. Fire the torpedos 1 through 3 (make sure to fire them in order)
3. When you are done disarm the weapons with the key and the weapon bay doors will close

How to Use Towed Sonar Array:
1. Click the "Towed Array Deploy Switch". When the sonar is fully deployed the green indicator will come on
2. To turn on active sonar click the "Towed Array Ping" button
3. Click noise maker to distract incoming torpedos
4. To stow the towed array just click the "Towed Array Deploy" switch again

How to Use Periscope/Sonar:
1. Sit in the weapons seat and press the periscope button
2. Use the arrow buttons to move the camera around and zoom in/out
3. To turn on sonar passively click the sonar button. To turn it on active click the ping button

How to Use ICBM:
1. Set the coordinates into the keyboard at the sonar chair
2. Arm the system with the key. The submarine will automatically move to the depth and speed that will allow the launch of the ICBM
3. Hit the launch ICBM button

How to Use Mini Sub:
1. Put on a scuba suit (found in the rear exit hatch) and climb into the mini sub seat and hit the launch button
2. Throttle arrows up and down for speed, W A S D to steer and change depth
3. Click the "Depth Hold" toggle switch to activate depth hold. Depth can be changed using the arrow buttons on the far right side
4. Click "Activate Anchor" to turn on the magnetic connector. Drive near an enemy ship to attach. Turn off the switch to release the mini sub
5. To re-dock with the main sub, first make sure the launch button is OFF, then drive over the hard-point connector and it will automatically attach and start to charge (this can take a few tries)
6. The red "Batt Low" light will come on when the batteries are below 40% charge

@CorpseCopy Thanks for the advice, and that is definitely something I could add. The mines/torpedo/ICBM worked a lot better when I released them 9 months ago. I think some updates may have broken them, so I will have to work on fixing them. I've been spending most my time on my new fishing boat, but now that i'm done that I can work on this again.

I've got some ideas, an air lock' or a way of entering/leaving the sub without putting water inside the sub.
The Mines are also funky, possibly change them to daisy-chained mines would be great. But over all a great sub, and easy to understand

Another thing of note. I am not very skilled in the aesthetic department. So if anyone wants to take this and make it look a little better that would be very cool!

@max70751 I fixed the depth hold, for some reason I had the numbers inverted. It wasn't a you issue.

good submarine, but the mini sub's depth hold seems to be inverted? no matter what depth i put for it, it wants to shoot up like a rocket. might just be a me problem though

@berrict almost certainly

@tacticalyeet If you leave the throttle at full then the generator will not be able to keep up. If you set 27-30 on the throttle it will be able to cruise for 8-10 hours. I only use full throttle if i need to go fast for a short period of time.

is it just me or does the generator not generate enough power to compensate for the engine and system's consumption. cause the electric is constantly going down even though the reactor is stable.
