Where to start?
- First you should finish both tutorials and I mean for every class, later start Single Player.
- Tutorial really doesn't explain some stuff properly for new players so I made this guide to help
newbies who are struggling with this game.
* Old stuff
** Newer stuff for the guide
Tips and tricks
* When you're fixing something you can press on "repair" to get small boost to fixing speed
while repairing, but you need the white line to be in the completed side of the bar (red-yellow-
green) and not in the empty one (black).

* When your crew mates (A.I) that was supposed to be on the guns, goes to start fixing the hull
or do other thing, you need to drag the work you need him to prioritize to the most left side of
work bar.

* You can remove the order to A.I. by clicking with right click 2 times on it.

* You earn EXP by completing missions and it's calculated like this:
Experience = Money * 0.09 * (1 + Level Diff. / 100)

* Before you take the quests take off every metal crate that's on the Crate Shelves, cuz if you
were to get delivery quest it will only count the free space on the crate shelves and you getting
less cargo and in return you will earn less money, that's why I craft storage containers and put
them in cabinets (Storage Container (12) * Medium Steel Cabinet (15) = 180 stack of items in
MSC filled with SC, while Crates only have 12-20 stacks of items capacity).

* Never take crew mates out of the sub, they have horrible pathfinding and get lost or just stuck.

* Don't waste your medical supply on a little scratch, if it's not in red and if you have more then
60% vitality (HP) and it doesn't really affect gameplay, just wait till you get to outpost and go to
the doctor to cure your ailments.

* Best way to get minerals is to look for caves. If you don't have a Mineral Scanner then
you just need to look for bunch of lines on you sonar, that is a current and it indicates that
cave is there. If you go in the cave you will need, a weapon, diving suit (duh..), plasma cutter,
scooter and handheld scanner (buy it on outpost and don't forget the batteries) and don't
forget to stack up on O2 tanks (for your diving suit and plasma cutter).
** You can also find plants but they do not show on scanner and you have to use turret to view
outside of your sub in order to find it (BTW they glow, so that is best indication that they are
different from regular underwater plants).

* Most things can be fabricated for cheaper, so don't just spend you cash on it.
Here's an example, revolver ammo cost on average 35 mk per bullet, but if you go to
mining outpost (cheapest resources) and buy 2 * Mg (2 * 52 mk), 2 * Lead (2 * 14 mk) and
1 * Copper (17 mk), you can make 12 revolver bullets for 149 mk, which is 2.8X cheaper that
buying bullets for average price (or 2.19x cheaper then lowest price).
PS: You need captains talent to make revolver and revolver bullets.

* You can fix ship on outpost by paying the guy who upgrades your ship (there is a second tab
for repairing the hull and electronics), but it's expensive to do it (goes to 1000 mk).
** Just use diving suit and welding tool to fix it from outside while docked on outpost, much
cheaper solution.

* Be careful of your crew, if you're outside and getting chased by monster and A.I. is on turret he
will shred you to pieces just to kill the enemy, or if you capture a pirate and are dragging him
same thing will happen (just disable their job before doing that).

* If A.I. refuses to use turret, for example your ship has 2 coil-guns and 1 laser, he is probably
set to only use 1 type of weapon and will just ignore other one (it happens when there are 2
A.I.s on turrets), just cancel the order and order him again.

* Wiki is your best friend if you need to see how something is crafted.

* Electrical Discharge is good thing that I didn't know existed, basically it shocks the hull of the
sub and stuns the creatures that are stuck to it.

* There are 4 pets you can get from Strange eggs, look it up online which one did you get.
My advice is Cthulhu and Orange Boy are not worth it, while Peanut and Psilotoad are good
way to get Paralyxis, btw every pet has different food tiers that they eat.
PS: If Peanut ANY PET is hungry, you need to leave them with a food in
empty room, cuz those little ♥♥♥♥♥ won't move if someone is looking at him, I had them die
few times of starvation before I found that out.
PPS: AND PET FOOD ISN'T FOR PETS IT'S FOR PETRAPTORS(Assistant perk).

* Try to fabricate Combat Diving suit as fast as possible, cuz you will remove movement penalty
of diving suit (little bit) and gain +20% scooter speed when wearing it + little bit better def.

* Steal stuff, but you need to be alone in the room to not get caught, if you are caught the
security will be after you. If you wear stolen stuff you won't get caught till you start moving it
in the inventory, that way you can steal diving suits and deconstruct them for material to make
Combat version, btw steal the diving suit -> go to sub -> replace diving suit -> deconstruct
yours, cuz if you did that to stolen one, even materials would be marked as stolen.
PS: Use Storage Containers (you can carry 2 with both arms) and steal every piece of
clothing and ignore tools(low value) if not better quality for your crew. Usually the stolen
cloths will net you ~400 mk on next station.

* Captains perk "Travelling Tradesman" is good one, cuz it will give you 3 daily special sales per
NEW outpost (old ones before perk will not update), meaning you can buy meds or resources
cheaper + you get 20% item sell price which is good for stolen items.

* Don't use medical items that you don't meet the requirements (medical skill level), cuz you
will get less positive and more negative statuses, so use weaker medicine if you're not a
medic cuz it has lower skill requirements.

* You can recycle empty coil-gun and fuel rods in fabricator, but coil-gun gets really bad mid
game with regular ammo, so get your engineer to make depleted fuel rods and craft
depleted coil-gun ammo.
PS: To make depleted fuel rods you need fuel rods with <10% durability, so don't recycle
them, just buy new ones or craft new ones.
** If you're still using coil-gun in later stage, you better use Piercing ammo.

* Pulse laser is really good gun, cuz it's ammo is easy to craft, you need monster blood and
lithium (from batteries) and A.I. is really accurate with them.
** Just for love of god, don't give them the Tri-laser one.

* Any kind of powder based material sodium, magnesium... keep them in lockers cuz they
are watertight, if it's not in them or is in non watertight crates it will explode.
This includes if it's on you, even if you're wearing diving suit, and storage containers aren't
watertight but you can put them in lockers to save space.

* If you see water current that is pushing sub from below, my advice don't go down there.
Even if you have a stupid pirate sub that crashed down there cuz of hammer heads,
DON'T GO DOWN THERE it's not worth it, just fail the stupid mission.

* There are bunch of events that happen on the outpost, you can find them on fandom wiki,
but there aren't all listed cuz it's outdated.

- Honestly, this is all I could thing of to say to the new player playing this game. If you did 1st region
of the Single player, you can try playing Multiplayer with better understanding now.
- I hope this guide helped you as much as it could, happy sailing and beware of the HUSK. Bye!

Nice Tips, Thanks a lot

There Abyss Creatures , you can get mission to hunt them, but it's really hard in SP to do it(not that I did it), cuz BOTs are just stupid and you can't communicate with them.

These are all great tips, thank you! Is there a good way to train repair or medic skills in the early-game (or at all)?
BRIMStone Mar 20, 2023 @ 7:20pm
ok but what IS "down there" where that current is? just the abyss or...?

I'm glad to see positive comments and that my guide helps newbies learn game faster, because it has so much stuff that you have to memorize that the game doesn't tell you! <3

Thank you, I've failed the second mission like 10 times in a row, there's like no guides for people who are smooth brained and new at the game (and the tutorial really doesn't teach you much about piloting a whole sub in single player) so I appreciate it
