Songbird's Sewing

Description
Simple tailoring recipes for vanilla clothing and curtains.

---Small mod size for your server.---

Make, repair and rip clothing. Earn tailoring skill points and improve your mood. Each recipe is realistically graded to suit your skill points. For example, with Tailoring skill = 0, you can only play around with sewing materials (make thread, make sheets, get yarn). As your skill level increases, more recipes become available. The higher skill levels allow you to craft clothing that is more difficult to make (eg: bulletproof vests, shoes) as well as clothing with high defence points (eg: leather/military/firefighter jackets, military boots). Each recipe gives your mood a boost. After all, who doesn't feel better after achieving success?

To make some items, you will need sewing patterns as well as tailoring skill, so look for these magazines:
- Tailoring Bags for All Occasions
- Tailoring Guide to Shoemaking
- Tailoring the Bulletproof Life
- Tailoring Handbook for Knitters
- Tailoring the Perfect Wedding

Most vanilla clothing is included in this mod:
- Military outfits (including boots and backpack)
- Police outfits (including bulletproof vests)
- Dresses and skirts
- Pants, jeans and shorts
- Shirts and jackets
- Knitted sweaters
- Hats
- Gloves
- Socks
- Shoes and boots (make and repair)
- Backpacks, duffel bags and fanny pack

All vanilla curtains included:
- 3 x long curtain colours
- 8 x short curtain colours
- 4 x small curtain colours (small curtains are the ones that look like roller blinds)

Also some basic tailoring recipes such as:
- Make thread
- Make sheets
- Get yarn from sweaters

Notes:
Helmets not included (not really sewable fabric). Curtains also require Carpentry skill level 1 (because they are wall mounted). Yes, you can make ponchos from tarps. Some clothing colours are random (you might make a purple bra or yellow tank top).

Let me know in comments if I have missed a clothing item that you want to sew!

Hi, I love this mod, any chance we get a B42 version? Maybe when it releases? Also thanks for making tailoring fun.

@InfrAtary, Thanks for your compliments :) I apologise for the delay. I know you have been patiently waiting a very long time for the tactical satchel to be added to the magazine recipes. Unfortunately, my health has actually gone downhill (rather than improving), so I can't see myself making this change in the near future. I'm sorry.

Great mod love how this makes tailoring a great skill! I know it hasn't been updated for a while, but is there any chance to add the tactical satchel from the mod they knew on the magazine Tailoring Bags for All Occasions?

@ Elmega12, please look for the recipe name "Make suit jacket". It is part of a matching outfit, so there is also a recipe named "Make suit pants".

I cant find a recipe to craft suit jackets, ¿is it intended?

@Jamison There should be a way to make sub-menus for the fabric recipes. Thank you for your suggestion!
Jamison Aug 10, 2024 @ 3:50am
Is there any way to hide the options behind a sub-menu in the right-click menu? For me, when I right-click fabric, it explodes into a menu that is as large as the screen, and takes a while to scroll down (unless that's a mod conflict on my side). Generally, I love the idea of being able to craft clothes at higher tailoring levels.
