@JJTimothy I know, don't you worry.
JJTimothy Jan 24, 2023 @ 2:08pm
I jest of course.

@JJTimothy Indeed. Both of them are from Yorkshire, which if memory serves is traditionally considered 'the north' (people in the south don't seem to be aware of County Durham or Northumberland, both of which are further north than Yorkshire). I do agree about the weather though; I've had some lovely days in northern England/southern Scotland.

Oh I thought you mentioned your parents were from Yorkshire... :steammocking:

When it's bleak here it can be very bleak indeed but on a good day, of which there are plenty even in winter (such as today), Durham is lovely.

@JJTimothy I didn't grow up in the north of England, but my parents did, and the weather patterns in this scenario are inspired by my father's descriptions of walking to the bus stop in smog. The only other scenarios done thus far are one on Alan Thomson Simulation (which I couldn't upload here due to an odd bug) and one with a J50.

Tried, enjoyed, added to the Friends of DRCM website and I think I'm caught up now unless you've put something else out when I wasn't looking. Like the weather bleak don't you?

Regarding Chris' comment the NER O class is a.k.a. the LNER G5 0-4-4 passenger tank. None in preservation but a new one is being built by the G5 Locomotive Company about ten minutes down the road from me in Shildon. (There's a link to their website in the Friends of DRCM links page if you're interested.)

I have the Caledonia Works loco and was putting a video together starring it- must get back to that.

@pjohnandlyns Interesting. My best guess is that's designed to simulate BR locomotives being permitted to access NCB track (assuming the trackwork at Brandon Colliery is Coal Board rather than BR).

Hi HS. The Bracket signal I mentioned has a "Distant" for the "Home" further along that covers access to Brandon Sidings plus a "Home and Distant" for the main line.

@chris Unfortunately, I do not own either locomotive, so I cannot speak authoritatively on that one. However, a steam loco version of this scenario does sound like a good shout.

Correct - right up my street thank you HS. To me, it doesn't get any better than a Class 101 on Weardale, even on a murky morning. Really enjoyed this one. A close runner up is rolling the clock back a few years with the Caledonia Works NER Class O and some Ex NER Coaches (hint?!). I appreciate this one HS. Kind Regards. Chris
