Description
Adds new fantasy tree types to your world!
Any similarities between these trees and trees from other fantasy verses may be coincidental.

NEW TREES
- Ironwood - Slow growing but quite large, these long-lived trees are slightly denser and heavier than most types.)
- Tanglewood - Fast growing metallic trees that only grow in savage, untamed wilderness.
- Blood Oak - Evil, blood red trees that feed on tiny creatures that typically live in/on trees.
- Aether-cap - Highly valued, this light softly glowing giant mushroom only grows in good subterranean biomes.
- Bleeding Birch - Contact with a bleeding birch's carmine sap causes blisters and bleeding.
- Dwarfwood - WIP Petrified tree. Currently they live and spread like normal trees. produces wood not stone.

Armor and weaponry (such as but not limited to the kind grown by elves) made from the wood of these tress may pose more of a threat.
Ironwood and Tanglewood are now meager sources of iron and copper respectively.

FUTURE PLANS
- Make Ironwood and Tanglewood sources of Iron and Copper respectively.
- Make Blood Oak produce a highly toxic sap or secretion.
- Fix Dwarfwood to simply be a petrified tree that generates but doesnt spread.

KNOWN ISSUES/BUGS
- the sap from blood oak and bleeding birch doesnt go everywhere and stick to everything like i had hoped. On the bright side, this makes it easier for players to test out the new wood types without dying from bloodloss or necrosis so much. ^_^

Heyo, I have encountered a bug wherein the Dwarfwood when made into blocks becomes a "Petrified Block" which for some reason DFHack is completely not recognizing, nor are any of my stockpiles. Whenever using it to make wooden blocks it completely clutters the Carpenter Workshop. I see the mod hasn't been updated in years, just putting it out there for anyone downloading

have you considered making cave trees that have fruits on them?
Curious Jun 22, 2024 @ 4:52am
Fascinating, so it's the sap in particular, that's pretty cool.
Deon ☣ Jun 22, 2024 @ 4:31am
@Curiious No, because the wood doesn't contain sap, especially when processed.

@mgla That other mod doesn't modify trees, it adds plants you can grow that resemble trees. So it's compatible, but there will be no plants/seeds for the new trees added by this mod.

Would this be compatible with other mods modifying trees, such as this tree farming mod? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3044707015&searchtext=tree

Havn't tried out the mod yet, but would Bleeding Birch beds cause people who use them blisters and bleeding?

@GlitterLich
Cannot reproduce. please send screenshots. Nothing that I can see in my code that would make that happen.

Interesting, I'll check it out. in the meantime, consider already generated areas like that just a fluke of geology. ^_^

The dwarfwood seems to generate a lot in the sea, for some reason.
