Sons of Myrmidia

Description
>>*These units are only available through the Archecclesiatium of Myrmidia landmark in Magritta.*<<

*NOTICE* All of my screenshots are taken with my certified potato pc™.
This means (at least in theory) that my custom units will look better on your high-end machine (if you do have one).
So don't be scared off by my horrible screenshots, thanks.

*NOTICEX2* Some of the assets featured in this mod are LOD 0 only.
This means that some assets will not lose details when zooming out.
This may result in a minor or moderate impact on your FPS.

*Please consult the Known Issues and QA sections before commenting, thanks.*

Please notice that the units' stats screenshot was taken with the unit size setting set to large, so expect more HP if you are playing on Ultra.

First and foremost I would like to address the following:
-NO, while having a few historical emblems this is not meant to be an historical-friendly mod so don't complain about x or y not being historical enough, thank you.
-NO, this mod is not lore-friendly especially if we consider that current loreful Estalia is based on medieval and Renaissance-era Spain and Portugal.
This mod is pretty much just a fanfic unit mod and nothing more, if you want to know more I made a rough introduction here https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2899559149/3710433479211744179/
-NO, I will not and I cannot make a custom faction out of this, it's way above my modding skills.
HOWEVER, you can use all of the current (and future) assets featured in this mod to make any kind of mods and submods, you have my permission.
Just remember to mention me (and shawmuscle if you end up using his white lion's helmet asset) in your credit section.

That said: this mod adds a few Myrmidia themed units for the Empire, you can consult the unit roster in the discussions section.
They are all available through the Archecclesiatium of Myrmidia landmark in Magritta.
*Considering that you can only build the landmark after the city hits level 5, you might want to consider starting as Estalia through Mixu's Mixer to make your life easier.*
Please notice that some units will also need additional buildings.

Ok, presentation over: let's dive into the technical stuff!

*COMPATIBILITY*

As far as I know this mod works with pretty much everything that do not mess too much with vanilla units.
Should be usable with an ongoing campaign but in my opinion You should not take any chances and use this mod on a brand new campaign to avoid any problems.

*KNOWN ISSUES*
-The Bronze Colossus is pretty much experimental and janky, don't expect too much from it (visually speaking).
-Most of the units are using generic Empire audio lines so they will inevitably make some comments about Sigmar at some point which, admittedly, is kinda immersion breaking for Myrmidia themed units.
-Peltasts' equipment may look a bit odd while performing certain animations.
-Some clipping here and there.
-If you are experiencing weird glowing effects on the units then please use this mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2922534576 until CA officially fixes that issue.
-Missing textures with certain graphic settings/while looking from certain angles: LOD issues/missing textures issues can be caused by low settings, LOD mods, Immortal Empires BETA bugs and/or even some faulty version of H3ro asset editor.
Translated= I generally can't do anything about that.
If you are experiencing low poly models+missing textures related to the current state of the game there isn't a common solution that works for everyone, but I managed to fix that by doing the following:
-Disable Sharpening
-Enable FXAA
-Enable Unlimited video memory

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you...when the mod status change from updated to outdated....if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff....know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif

...But jokes aside: please don't do that.
When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

*QA*

-"Is this mod going to be included in your The Zerg Collection Volume I mod?"
No, this one is meant to be and stay stand-alone.

-"Will this mod eventually also cover Estalian/Tilean units based on the Reman Empire?"
Nah, that goes beyond the scope of this mod.

-"Lord's Red line?Tech buffs?"
I gave them generic Empire infantry sets, so they should get buffs related to those sets.

-"SFO/Radious ecc. ?"
As a matter of fact I'm officially retired from SFO/Overhaul related mods.
As always: If you already have previous experience in SFO submodding feel free to make an SFO version out of any of my mods that are currently missing one, I will link your submods if you provide me with a link.

-"Your mods are ugly and janky, why? just why?"
Here's a friendly reminder: I'm just an amateur and nothing more.
If you want beautiful stuff with no jank then stick with CA and/or professional modders and avoid my mods, simple as that really.

And that's all I guess!
Credits time!

Thanks to shawmuscle https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198350420895 for his Shaws White Lion Helms mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2894750380 since I used a modified variant of that custom helm for some units and officers featured in my mod.
Thanks to Phazer for RME editor!
Thanks to H3ro and his great tool!
Any of this would not have been possible without Frodo45127's RPFM which is still updated to this very day, thank you!
I would also like to thank Sebidee and Caligula for their great modding guides!
And I would like to thank you!
Whatever you liked my mod or not thanks a bunch for giving it a try!

Let's be brutally honest now: there are countless modders that are WAY more talented than me and that would deserve your money more than me.
That said, If you have grown to like my works so much to the point that you want to express your appreciation or just put a smile on my face...well: I will not stop you ;) .
You have my gratitude for all the support you can throw at me, independently by the donation's sum: you are all equals to me and I do thank you all.
From my part I can assure you that your donations will not be wasted, in fact I would mainly use them to:
-complete the Total War Warhammer DLC collection and thus expand my modding possibilities
-PC related things

Do also note that CA has this weird habit of having buildings named as certain tiers in its internal files but then having said buildings with slightly different names and tiers in the game, which can cause a little bit of confusion.
As such I suggest you to max out both the forge and stable building chains anyway, just in case you are still not able to recruit the aforementioned units after you have built the specific required building tiers.

You probably didn't build the required additional buildings needed for certain units in this pack, the unit tooltip should have told you that you were missing them but it can be hard to notice at certain times.
-Myrmidian Heavy Hoplites and the Myrmidian Old Guard need a tier 2 forge
-The Bronze Colossus needs a tier 3 forge
-The Myrmidian War Stonehorn Howdah needs a tier 3 stable
All of these additional buildings MUST be built in the Estalia province, along with the special landmark in order to unlock all of the units in this pack.

As it is clearly stated at the very beginning of the mod's description: "These units are only available through the Archecclesiatium of Myrmidia landmark in Magritta".
You can find Magritta in the province of Estalia.
If you can't build the landmark after conquering the city or you can't recruit the units after building the landmark then you are either:
-Having corrupted files
-Trying to run this mod with another incompatible mod
-Trying to run this mod with a mod that disable/modify vanilla landmarks
-Trying to get these units with a vanilla/custom unsupported faction
Regarding the save thing: yeah, it's good practice to ALWAYS test new subbed mods on fresh new saves but since this is a simple unit pack mod it *should* be save compatible, but again yeah a faulty/partially bugged save file could also causes various issues.

hi i cant find where to build the landmark what settlement is it, i feel like im not looking right. im wondering if its in conflict with a file i have saved already

all good i was drunk as a barrel and couldnt read the mod titles
zerg93  [author] Nov 24, 2024 @ 4:04am
Don't know what to tell you, everything is good here.
I can only guess that you got corrupted files on your end, unsubbing and resubbing should fix that.

this mod disappeared from my mod launcher??

Well right on that's good to know it's not just an isolated incident. Still as I said it's not game breaking and I still love using the mod. Thank you for the reply.
