I changed the railings in the middle and also changed that hitting grants points to reward fighting and actually PUNCHING someone in this mode.
Here's my suggestion:
-make everyone have just one life
-make the minigame last 3 rounds
-after each round every player will get points. Last man standing will get the most, while the person who get eliminated first the least. Just like in Snowy Spin.
-punches at the start of the each round are weak, they push opponents only a small distance. Each successful hit will increase the strength of the punch. This should encourage players to play aggresively, instead of running away.
To get close to the original concept you could substract 10 point for getting knocked out of the ring and add +1 points for hitting people to encourage engaging in fights.
Another option might be as knock out Item that allows your next hit to instant kill and opponent and give you 20 points when hitting an opponent with said item. That would encourage people to move towards each other and/or the spawned knock out power ups.
Another option that could prevent cowards running away would be that hitting someone increases your movement speed for a duration of time. That way the cowards can't run because people activly engaged in hitting others will be faster and catch up to them.
Good luck and have fun. Maybe the next update will enable what you need for your game design.
I tried to fix it. Hopefully the killbox is now big enough.
