Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno

Known affectionately as the "Hachi-Roku", the Toyota Sprinter Trueno is a special version of the E70-platform Toyota Corolla from the 80's that gained extreme popularity in the 90's for being very light, RWD, easily modifiable, and having a fun high-revving twin-cam engine, all while being (at the time) very affordable and accessible. It has since become an icon of Japanese car culture and an absolute cult classic.

The version I have built here is the 1983-1985 Sprinter Trueno 3door 1600GT-APEX liftback, finished in High Tech Two-Tone with the red interior, and with the rare factory option of a digital gauge cluster. The engine is the venerable 4-cylinder "Blue-top" 4A-GE with the only modification being an aftermarket air filter to facilitate the removal of the big ugly airbox up front that obscures the engine.

This car took months of research, planning, building, testing and troubleshooting to create. I learned a lot and am very satisfied with the result. I hope you enjoy playing with it. :)
