Introduction

Picture this - You get a new notification, a trade a caravan! How exciting! Except... No, guys, please don't walk through the cave filled to the brim with angry genetically engineered insects... Aaaand your visitors are all dead. And now their faction hates you for some reason.

Description

"Not My Fault" is a simple mod. It removes the -5 penalty you get from visitors dying on your map tile due to events you had no control over.

No more faction reputation loss because your visitors picked a fight with a wild man-hunting grizzly bear. Or perhaps they lit themselves on fire because they somehow missed the fact that a dry thunderstorm turned your rice fields into a raging inferno. Or maybe one of their own has a mental break and decides to go on a grenade throwing spree.

Either way, you wouldn't have been penalised if this happened on the tile directly adjacent to your map. Why should you be punished for it now?

It should be noted that this mod does NOT remove penalties for intentionally harming visitors. That being said, this is still not a "balanced" mod in that there are definitely ways to exploit this system. Up to you how you would like to use it.

Compatibility:
As the mod replaces the -5 faction penalty in the vanilla source code with 0, there should be no issues with mod compatibility.

Yeah, getting a -10 from the visitors decide to leave during a raid (I even have a mod that makes them ask before leaving, but didnt get the option)

Does this mod prevent the "attacked faction member" when there is a shuttle quest and the cataphacts stand in the way (they have ranged weapons| and take the shots from my people?

I am getting -10s for "never heard back from this delegation" after a visitor got hunted by a predator. Does this mod not prevent this?

trade caravan shows up, raid shows up as trade caravan is leaving. both sides completely wiped, running with letters disabled, only found out when i saw the aftermath. this is why i run this mod aswell, also the fact the caravans are dumbasses in general and would walk through an insect nest because its a shorter route then the actual safe route thats just 2 tiles longer.

Looking at Rimworld's source code, being crushed is an explicit -25 per death rather than the -5 this mod prevents, probably due to how easy it is to abuse

-50 rep from from 2 deaths by roof crushing. Harmony is main mod being run.

For me it's not a big problem, seems to only have been that particular scenario where one visitor killed his friend. If I "convince" the wildlife to kill a few of them or guests via Hospitality for some reason decide to stand in the steam geyser until they die of heatstroke ... not my fault lol

After doing some testing I can't reproduce this mod failing in the various scenarios, I'm thinking there must be a mod out there which changes the function I'm transpiling to the point where this no longer works. Sadly I can't fix that, as they've destructively overriden the basegame
