Mafdet - Talon Recon and Exploration Vessel for Reforged Eden

Mafdet (also Mefdet, Maftet) was a goddess in the ancient Egyptian religion. She was often depicted wearing a skin of a cheetah, and protected against the bite of snakes and scorpions. She is part of the ancient Egyptian deities during the First Dynasty of Egypt. Mafdet defended Ra from threats during his daily voyage. She would hunt by night (earning the epithet "Piercer of Darkness") and ensure the coming of dawn.

The Mafdet was my entry for the XCaliber's August 2022 Designer's Challenge for Combat CVs. It is a Core9, lvl 25 combat CV relying on shield strength to execute its missions. It evolved from an initial piece of art I found on Pinterest (can't find it again to credit the author, sorry)



and a design study that you see as each side "pod".



Coloring and texturing was an evolution from my first Talon ship, a starter CV that was another Designer's Challenge entry to be released shortly.



It's pretty much the largest and most intricate design I've done to date. It's not just a pretty face though, since it starts with:

Warp Drive
Advanced Shield with 4 Capacitors and 2 Chargers (20.3k hp/200 recharge)
Armament

• 12x T1 Laser turrets
  
• 4x Light Railgun turrets
  
• 2x T1 Missile turrets
  
• 2x Sentinel Flak turrets

Long-Range Radar
Storage

• 320k Ammo
  
• 2x 400k Cargo
  
• 254k Harvest
  
• 6x other boxes

Full Survival Gear (except Food Processor)
Two Small Constructors (with spacing to replace them with Adv Constructor/Deconstructor)
Front cockpit with full medical/repair and separate Tactical Bridge
Sufficient solar panels to idle at negative (Weapons, Shield, and Thrusters off)

Hull Construction is mostly regular Steel with Xeno for details and some Hardened Steel for frontal protection at the Tactical Bridge. Four hardpoints are available for miscellaneous turrets as are 3 dedicated hull locations for MX-4 Rapid Torpedo launchers (remove the Shutter Windows). Spacing for 4 CPU upgrades is provided. Spots are marked to add 4 of the medium shield boosters and the remaining two Large Shield Chargers (remove the two deco bits).

A vanilla version wouldn't be difficult to whip up given interest. Let me know. Enjoy!
