History of the Yamato
Construction of the Yamato began in 1937, and ended in 1940. She was commissioned a year after she was launched, and wouldn't see much combat in the years following. On the 12th of February 1942, she became the flagship of Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto and would be present at the Battle of Midway. She however did not take part in the fighting, and would retreat to Kure after the battle.

She would miss out on the Guadalcanal campaign due to a lack of ammo capable of shore bombardment (most likely meant for the Americans on Henderson Field) and her high fuel bombardment. During this time, the Yamato (and her sister ship, Musashi) became referred to as Hotel Yamato and Hotel Musashi by Japanese servicemen as they sat around in port with many luxuries for the officers and commanders on board.

During 1943, she would swap places with her sister ship, the Musashi, as the flagship of the combined fleet and wouldn't accomplish much in rest of 1943 and early 1944 (excluding the upgrades that she went through during those years).

Her first taste of combat came in 1944, where she (under the command of Admiral Takeo Kurita) would partake in Operation Shō-Gō. She would see the Musashi meet her fate from American aircraft in Battle of the Sibuyan Sea, and would fire her guns for the first time in combat during the Battle off Samar.
After chasing the Americans for a few hours and being harassed by the formations planes and destroyers (along with almost breaking the record of the longest shot hit by a surface vessal), the Yamato had to retreat. This was because Kurita started to become paranoid of any actual American carriers, and the Yamato wouldn't see action until March 1945.

During March 1945, the Yamato would partake in Operation Ten-Go. Ten-Go was devised by the Japanese naval high command to please the emperor and is seen as a naval banzai charge. The plan called for the Yamato to beach herself on the shore of Okinawa and use her guns to ward off any American ships, however American recon had spotted the Yamato moving and she was sunk by American airpower before she ever made it to Okinawa.

This I beautiful, absolutely amazing, only one issue though, when I try to set up all the guns for a full broadside the turrets start traversing on their own and I can't line them up, does it have something to do with the high angle I have therm at? (37 degrees)

@The Spinosaurus-Rex WasStolen
Did you spawn the weapons dlc version in the mission and have infinite ammo enabled in the options menu? I have tested it and it works just fine

@CertifiedWarCriminal i'm confused how did you make the guns inf have ammo??? cause when i turn it on with my ship spawned in the guns don't fire
CertifiedWarCriminal  [author] Sep 11, 2022 @ 12:51pm
@robynbug No because it would make it lag more because of the amount of pivots
