Straightforward 100% Achievement Guide: Single Playthrough Edition

This guide will help you get every achievement in one playthrough. I've cut back on the walls of text so that you can focus less on this and more on your game. Guaranteed to enhance your EZ2 achievement-hunting experience.

Beginning

Beat Cop
Start your game from chapter 0 on difficulty Combine Soldier or Combine Elite to unlock when you beat the game.

Bad Cop
Start your game from chapter 0 on difficulty Combine Elite to unlock when you beat the game. This will also unlock Beat Cop.

Never had it anyway.
Unmissable; complete chapter 0.

Chapter 1: Ashes

Cell Division
Starting with the soldier pictured in the first image, add each of the four soldiers you come across to your squad. Keep them alive until the extraction point as pictured in the last image.





































New body. New Boots.
Unmissable; Unlocks when you enter the dropship come to pick you up.

Chapter 2: Contact Aberration

Interdependency
Disarm a medic by kicking their weapon. With your use key, detain them and then ask them to heal you. Make sure you're at reduced health so you can accept the health kit.

Please Knock
Kick open 60 doors. Use quicksave to farm for this achievement.

Science Team
Starting with those in the first image, add each of the five soldiers you come across to your squad. Keep them alive until the entrance to the secret lab as pictured in the last image. Keeping the fifth one with the exposed brain, Scar Zero, will make available the achievement Scar Zero later on. Meanwhile, find Radio Recon collectibles 1-5.
Use a S.L.A.M. to break through the wall.

Throw a grenade through this vent and then enter the door to the left.

Unmissable; this will unlock after you talk to your clone.

Chapter 3: Chamber Catacomb

Friends in low places
Unmissable; meet Wilson. Keep him with you through the whole game to access certain achievements.

Dirty Harry
Kill 18 rebels with the revolver. You can farm for this achievement by quicksaving.

Drift King
Make a quicksave and then drive onto this ledge to flip your APC.



















Closet Clearer (2/11)
This door needs to be powered on before you can unlock it.



















Closet Clearer (3/11)
Carry Wilson with you this way.
After activating the breaker box, use a prop to boost yourself through this window.










Ghost Hunt
Unmissable; see an apparition of the Borealis.

Far Distant Eyes
After you leave the monitoring station, 3650 says that he’s never going back into it. Go back into it.

Chapter 4a: Exhumation Zone

Take Wilson off of the APC and bring him with you through this section.

Rebar Huntsman
Kill 25 alien creatures with the crossbow. This can be farmed for by quicksaving.

Temporal Troubles (1/4)
Unmissable; kill the temporal headcrab.

Closet Clearer (4/11)

A headcrab shell will expose this closet.



















Now there are two of them!
Kill both of the gonomes in the Xentarium. Use AR2 energy balls if you have them. If you use xen relay grenades it won't count.

On a Road
Unmissable; reach Arbeit 2.

Chapter 5: Apprehension

Temporal Troubles (2/4)
Break this supply crate to reveal the temporal headcrab. Kill it.

If you successfully escorted the hidden fifth soldier from the achievement Science Team to the secret lab in chapter 2, you’ll meet them again.

Deliverance
Bring Wilson into the AI upload station.



















The Project
Unmissable; find the Borealis.

Save your game now so you can do each of the next five achievements. After doing the associated tasks, you may need to wait for a cutscene before some of these will unlock.

Supposed Brothers
Don’t kill your clone.

There will be darkness
Cooperate with the advisor.

Load your save.

Problem Soul
Kill your clone.

Overwatch says "Stop kicking it"
Kick the advisor.

There will be pain
Kill the advisor.

Still Alive
Having earlier brought Wilson to the AI upload station, kill the advisor.

Post-game

Visitor Pass
Earn bronze medals on all challenge maps.

Bootstrap Program
Earn silver medals on all challenge maps.

Mirage Clearance
Earn gold medals on all challenge maps.

Closet Clearer (1/11) can't get the door open any advise?

For those who struggle with the second Temporal Crab, try and not activate the sequence to capture Judith Mossman. After that, you'll find the crate but don't break it yet! For some reason, the placement of the ammo crate will not spawn the headcrab. Instead, pick it up and place it down like a 3 feet or a meter AWAY from the wall (E to pick up and E to drop). The headcrab will break the crate on its own, and you'll need to kill it quick because it has a habit of despawning. It'll give you like 2 minutes at most to kill it.

Note: for the second Temporal Crab, you have to break the box before you breach the doors. Otherwise it just gives the AR2 Orb and the Battery anyway.

I had to play through the ending three times before achievements "Still Alive" and "There will be pain" registered. No fight, just loading and waiting.

How is this even possible code-wise? I did basically the same thing three times, how could some "if" statement evaluated differently all of the sudden?

glad you figured it out. as an avid achievement hunter, achievements tend to be one of the least polished parts of many games. whenever an achievement is being finicky, persistence is the best way to get it.
