Easy Nuka Cade Tickets
ᕮᗪᗯᗩ®ᗪ🍀 님이 작성
This is a building guide and mainly for vanilla game users (DLCs allowed and needed).
I will show you a way to make a lot of Nuka-Cade tickets using the Hoop-Shot game from Nuka World, without actually playing the game.
All you have to do is, build the Hoop-Loop®. After you did this, you just insert the token and collect the tickets when the game ends.

Why should you build a contraption?
At some point, player level 50 iirc, the price terminal gives you legendary plasma weapons, or other legendaries and sometimes X-01 power armor parts. It's pretty random, I know.
But if you want to buy those rewards, you need a lot of tickets.
There are three ways to get them, find a few lying around, play the games and win some, or add them via console.

So, why should you build it?

1. Because you can.
2. If you play on survival this might come in handy, since you can't use console to add tickets.
3. You don't like playing a game within a game.
4. You aren't happy with the payout per game or your performance.
5. You're too lazy to play Hoop Shot.

It also helps with getting the Nuka-World achievement,
Eyes on the Prize (Redeem 100.000 tickets at the Nuka-Cade).

I kinda stumbled over this by burning through my junk from the workbench, buiding all sorts of crazy contraptions.

What do we need?
Base game with Nuka world dlc.
Workshop dlc, the one with conveyor belts.

You need to have access to the Nuka Cade building options, visiting Nuka World after you finished the gauntlet should already unlock those.
A good amount of asorted junk, not so much this time.
Focus on rubber, steel and gears.

A working power supply and a ton of Nuka Cade Tokens.
Even ground to build on. The contraption isn't large, two attached wooden floors should suffice.
I personally prefer the Sanctuary fundations for experimental building.

You can build your own token dispenser, no need to travel to Nuka World for tokens.
One pack/unit of pre war money gives you three tokens. There are many places with pre war money, like the bank at Super Duper Mart ($100 in a duffle bag below the broken wall).
Or in a duffle bag at the roof of the garage at Wicket Shipping ($30-50).
The money respawns after a while, so there should be no shortage of tokens.

How do we accomplish this?
You have to build one lift C-form from the conveyor belt options.
One conveyor belt without any attachments or supports and one sorter, any will do.
The sorter isn't mandatory, but better have one and don't need it, than need one and don't have it.
The sorter is there to reduce the errors that the lift produces over time and acts as power connection point.
Sometimes the basketballs fuse together in the lift and you lose numbers, the sorter splits large amounts of items into single items.

Do not feed the sorter !

You can feed your basketballs into the lift. You can use both basketballs, green and brown. And you can build the green balls via Nuka-World building options, if you can't find enough.
Notice: I just found out, that building "basketballs" counts towards building limit for structures and don't reset after you picked them up.
You can lower your limit with some on floor weapon scrapping, btw.

Don't Panic! It's easy to build.

Build a small support for the lift, either manually with a concrete fundation or with wooden floors.

First you place the lift and put it on the support, then you attach the sorter at the top. The sorter has one input and two outputs, so it should just snap on. The conveyor belt snaps to the lower part of the lift. Now you connect a power supply to the sorter. You can test it by grabbing a junk item and put it on the conveyor belt. It should be transported into the lift, then into the sorter and fall right next to the conveyor belt. Now you place the Hoop-Shot close by. Grab the Hoop-Shot and (that's the tricky part) slowly drag it under the conveyor belt. There are other ways to fuse them together, but lets stick with the easiest.

Test the allignment with one basketball, feed into the lift. This takes some time for correct placement but it's totally worth it. If the ball hits the basket/ring, you're almost there. You should save now and feed 10 balls into the lift. Insert your Nuka Cade token when the first ball leaves the sorter. Wait for results. If every ball hits the basket/ring and gives the sound, your setup is perfect.

Last steps:
Sometimes the balls are falling from the conveyor belt and roll away. Prevent this from happening by building some sort of border for the belt without covering your access to the token insert and ticket claim. When you finished playing, you should turn off the power supply and collect all balls and put them into the elevator, because conveyor belt systems tent to mess up your settlement when you're not around.

Final setup and Payout
I feed my lift with 100 basketballs, but 50 should do the trick.
My payout is 300-400 Nuka Cade tickets per token and game.I set up more contraptions further down in this guide for ambitious people, so you don't have to wait for a minute to collect only 300-400 tickets.
The Spark.
Not everything starts as a success. This was the first attempt, too lame, too big and the machine was stuck after 30 balls.

Be the machine.
Final approach for the ultimate Hoop Loop contraption.

20 loops, 1000 balls. I tested with 510 tokens ($170) and got 110k in tickets. Only 200 tickets/game, because the setup isn't perfect and I lose 100 balls during the first two runs. But the payout is huge.
Building time? You don't wanna know.
Playtime approx 30 minutes, maybe more.

Some pictures, just in case anyone wants to try it.

Glass walls for better light and to hold bouncing balls inside.

Two rows fundation for the lifts were removed after completion to give access to all coin insert and ticket claims.

Power consumption approx 80, one 100 MW fusion power supply is enough.

Latest addition. If you're still hungry for more. I scienced the crap out of the contraption, that's what it looks like now.

Base from left to right, half straight belt, full straight belt with connector, lift (form C no supports), another lift (form C no supports), full straight belt with connector, half straight belt.

I don't explain how to set up the fundation, just that the hight difference is exactly the difference between base game and dlc walls (e.g. the barn wall from Far Harbor) plus one wooden floor.

Start with the lifts. You can bring them close by using rolls (under conveyor building options). Just build five if them, then scrap or store the three in between. Add both lifts and scrap or store the other rolls (you won't need them anymore). Use the branch thingy to place all lifts side by side.
After you placed all 20 of them (or number of your choice) attach the straight belts with connector.
Now you can scrap away the fundation in the middle, and start placing 10 or whatever number of Hoop Shots. This only works from left to right, it's very tight this time, while standing on the belts with the lifts behind you. You should leave some room for the final belt, but not to much. If it's centered and the half belt barely snaps, you should be good.

Repeat 19 times. Then add the down ramps to the topside of the lifts.

Save at least every 15-30 minutes while building, in case your game crashes.

I only had to test two loops, then I just knew the rest would work. If you did it good, every ball should hit the square and then the ring. Only a few balls get stuck. No ball bounces outside of its loop or rolls off the belt, I hope. I only let it run for 30 minutes, so far. I added a ball collector system with ramps and a conveyor belt this time, but I don't think I need it.

Power...
- this contraption needs more. You have to build two 100MW fusion generators or 50 something small generators/ wind turbines.

Balls...
- it's more efficient and precise than the other constructions. You only need 20 balls per loop.
I wouldn't recommend using more, because the balls are super fast at the downramp and could cause a malfunction if too many balls are below the ring.

Have Fun !

Upgraded and polished version, or Hoop-Loop MK VI.

Stats:
50 loops, 20 minutes to burn 1,000 tokens, payout approx. 230,000 tickets.
Headache included!
Power consumption is exactly 300, would be perfect if not for the switch.
Tested with 20 balls per loop.

The End
Feel free to ask technical questions related to the contraption. No mod questions, please.

If you like the guide, rate it.

Rates doesn't help me (can't shoot them, can't eat them), but others to find the guide easier.

Wow, just wow. The fact that you figured all of this out and spent this much time on such a tiny feature in a game released over 7 years ago now is absurd and incredible. Kudos to you and enjoy my points good sir.
