Nova - Starter RHIB

Description
The Nova is a small RHIB, designed to be used as a starter ship or on a mothership.
It is fast, agile and very reliable. It has all the necessary equipment for most rescue mission.

Starting the ship:
1. flip the main switch (will power the nav lights and HUD)
2. turn the 'Start/Stop' key (will power all remaining systems)
3. use the WS throttle to change speed
4. use the AD controls to turn
5. use the up/down arrows to change max speed
Full operation: see manual in the screenshots

Main features:
- second mission compatible (cost<25k)
- 75 knots (fast mode)
- >200km range
- keep heading and auto-heading to waypoint
- firefighting hose
- full digital UI (map + radar + transponder locator + etc.)
- 8 seats + driver
- incredibly reliable, I mean that it can survive a front collision at 75 knots without any repair.

Security features:
- anti-collision detection (audio and visual alarm)
- visual alarms for low fuel, low battery, high engine temperature and breached hull
- automatic water pump out when hull is breached (with redundant fluid meter for extra-safety)
- pressurized hull (5 atm) to pump water out faster
- automatic engine safety to avoid overheating
- man overboard detection, the ship will automatically turn off when you're 10m from the ship
- automatic engine stop when collision detected
- unflip function
- emergency battery (manual only)
- emergency manual electricty generator
- reserve fuel (manual only, adds about 10km range)
- all important functions at the rear, protected in case of frontal collision
- meteo warning indicating when the wind is too strong to operate safely
- fixed transponder
- flare launchers
- launchable beacon (see notes to know how to make it so it won't sink)

Other features:
- 2 engines mode: fast and power (the gear indication will be in orange when in power mode)
- HUD with all important information
- transponder locator with automatic map display
- "charge battery" engine mode
- automatic night lights
- rotatable spotlight
- automatic heating (when under 15 degrees)
- all rescue equipment
- radio
- full meteo station
- comprehensive technical status (fuel, elec and engine)
- radiation alarm
- automatic anchor when beached and turned off
- dimensions 29x11x10 blocks, so it can be put in a container
- 4 gears (displayed in orange when in power mode, speeds and ranges are for 'speed' mode)
. R: 8 knots (reverse)
. 1: 36 knots very stable
. 2: 53 knots quite stable
. 3: 75 knots unstable

You can beach the ship, it is possible to push it back in the water (it works better when pushed sideway), the belly mag-all will anchor it to the beach, it will be automatically disabled when turning the ship on.

Up/down arrows to change gear (reverse must be activated/disabled with the floor button)
'1': keep current heading (or disable any auto-heading currently activated)
'2': keep heading to waypoint (or disable any auto-heading currently activated)
'3': turn on/off the front spotlight (left-right arrows to rotate it)
'4': switch engine mode
'5': unflip the ship (no need to keep it presed, it will try to unflip until it succeed)
'6': enable/disable the transponder and unlock/lock the flares button
'space' (trigger button): PTT (keep pressed to transmit)
For the firefigthing hose, plug the hose, flip the switch and then press the 'r' button to activate the hose.
From the driver seat, you have access to most equipements, including scuba suit, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and welding torch.
From the right-rear seat you have access to the reserve fuel, the emergency battery, the charge batteries feature and the flares (press '6' from the driver seat to unlock the button).
You can also see the 'PSI' red indicator which indicates that the hull is not pressurized (either it hasn't yet reached the correct pressure, either you have a breach).

Notes:
. when in 'power' engine mode, the ship will be more powerful (useful in heavy weather or to gain speed faster) but it will not go as fast as in 'speed' mode.
. the ship is so light that the wind will make it fly like a feather, use lower gears and/or reduce the throttle when the wind is too strong
. when stopped, the waves will go over the ship if the wind is too strong (over 40%), be careful not to go overboard
. the radar max range is 8km, and it doesn't detect anything in front of the ship due to its position on the engine
. you need to cover some distance for the automatic transponder locator to work, the more distance you cover, the more precise it will be (if you go toward the transponder it will be less precise than going at a right angle)
. do not forget to unflip the main switch when going away from the ship for a long time, to avoid depleting the main battery
. after having used the emergency battery and re-charged both batteries (using the charge batteries button), do not forget to unflip the emergency battery switch to avoid draining it
. in case of total loss of power, it is advised to fully refill the emergency battery using the manual crank before connecting it to the main system to restart the ship properly
. after having used the reserve fuel and refueled both tanks, do not forget to unflip the reserve fuel switch to avoid emptying it
. towing small ships is possible but you'll need very low wind and you won't be able to go any faster than 5-10 knots
. if you want to modify it, be careful of the colored blocks inside it (especially the floating pink ones, they are used for the unflip feature, do not move or remove these ones)
. be careful when refueling other ships, you do not have a lot of fuel, so keep the reserve fuel disabled to have 8km range to return home
. there's just enough room to add a bed to make it more campaign-friendly
. the launchable beacon will sink, to make it float you have to modify the mass of the following blocks:
- set mass to 0.2 for 'Hardpoint Connector Attachment (Round)'
- set mass to 1.8 for 'Solid Rocket Booster (Small)'
- set mass to '0.2' for 'Transponder'

- A bit more power so the ship accelerate a bit faster
- A bit less weight

- Forward lidar not mounted on robotic pivot anymore, using its internal pivot instead for perfromance reasons
- Forward lidar now scanning horizontally for better obstacle detection
- Reduced weight by 3

Updated to take into account the latest Stormworks updates
- engine is no longer overheating too fast
- pumping fuel and water fixed thanks to relief valves

There's also a new launchable beacon.

Note that due to some changes in Stormworks, the ship is now faster and has a better range.
Gladyon  [author] Dec 15, 2022 @ 10:24am
- radar is now rotating clockwise (not sweeping anymore), but the front of the ship is still a dead angle
- the angle of the engine is now taken into account for the radar
Gladyon  [author] Dec 15, 2022 @ 5:01am
- backup fluid meter to ensure that flooding will be detected
- now with 2 pumps to avoid flooding
- now with 2 engine modes (fast and power)
- range increased slightly (in fast mode)

It seems that the electric production was a bit short, especially when using the first gear.
- Navigation lights added
- More electric production

Now the ELEC screen indicates precisely if electricity is generated or not:
- when the alternator is green it means that the main battery is charging.
- when the manual crank is green it means that the emergency battery is charging

Desalinator removed because it doesn't cool down the engine. It seems that no water is going through it, and I have no idea why
Gladyon  [author] Nov 17, 2022 @ 11:32am
I also replaced the pump by a large one to pump water out faster and deeper, making this RHIB even more secure

I've updated this ship to use the latest improvments in Stormworks.
It is now possible to manually generate electricty to refill the emergency battery.
I've added the desalinator (even if I'm not sure it's useful, but in the future it may avoid damaging the engine with salt water).
I've also modified a bit the equipment to add the glowstick and dog whistle.
Also, some of the internals have been modified a bit to try to have more featrues still working after a frontal crash.
