I wish they kept the custom world settings from before though because they worked fine and didn't make a decent chunk of mods incompatible for not many reasons. There are a lot of mods from 2020-2023 which would add the settings with how they use to do it with a lot of comments complaining about them not working in the current version anymore - let alone support for non mars worlds as well.
Hopefully this is future proof and they don't reinvent the wheel again. At least it doesn't feel like the modding scene for this game is as active as most other steam games that thrive on modding, so when good modders take a break from the game a decent chunk of supported mods just drops every few updates.
The devs however also made difficulties moddable, allowing you to add custom difficulties to the game via modding. Custom difficulties can have a mining yield parameter.
Search the workshop for custom difficulties that alter mining yields, I'd be surprised if there aren't loads already. These mods should also be much more future proof, game updates shouldn't (hopefully) break these.
There's also a couple of excellent guides posted on their official Discord on how to setup a custom difficulty mod with mining yields altered.
It should be possible to edit an existing save with a text editor and a bit of XML know-how though.
