ReGrowth Weather Tweaks

Description
Updated to 1.4!

Mod still works the same as before, but it is worth pointing out that with ReGrowth's update to 1.4, the original author changed the movement and accuracy modifiers of many of the weather types. The modifiers are much less harsh now, and in some cases they match the values in this tweak. The base ReGrowth weathers now never put accuracy lower than 50%, and movement no lower than 60%. This tweak still makes some weather types easier to deal with, but the change is much less severe now.

The original 1.3 description is included below, as ReGrowth 1.3 weathers were not changed.

----------------------------------------

The new weather types in ReGrowth are wonderful and beautiful, but they severely impact the weather balance present in the vanilla game. At most, vanilla weathers change movement speed to 80% and shooting accuracy to 50%. ReGrowth weathers can drop it as far as 20% for both!

Penalties this high leads to making ranged weaponry sometimes useless, and such slow movement speeds interfere with the time-scale of the game, making some tasks impossible and often interfering with pawn's schedules. No longer should you find a pawn stranded halfway across the map, exhausted and starving, because you did not restrict their zoning every time a severe weather type occurs.

This makes the negative weather events easier to deal with, so this mod is directed at people who wish to keep the beautiful art of ReGrowth without impacting game balance.

Changes:
- Windy: Changed accuracy to 90% (from 75%).
A fairly mild weather type should not affect shooting more than a rainy thunderstorm.

- Hail: Changed accuracy to 70% (from 60%) and movement speed to 80% (from 60%).
Hail is now more severe than vanilla rainy thunderstorms or hard snow, but leaves room for harsher weather types.

- Monsoon: Changed accuracy to 50% (from 30%) and movement speed to 70% (from 30%).
50% accuracy is the same as vanilla fog, and 70% movement speed is slower than the vanilla minimum of 80%.

- Foggy Snow: Changed movement speed to 80% (from 70%).
Moves the penalty towards the vanilla minimum, but leaves room for harsher weather types.

- Blizzard: Changed accuracy to 50% (from 20%) and movement speed to 70% (from 20%).
Same as monsoon.

- Hard Sandstorm: Changed movement speed to 70% (from 60%).
Slower than the vanilla minimum of 80%, as it is a severe weather type like monsoons or blizzards.

Load after ReGrowth Remastered: Core.

Quick question:
Is this mod in any way related to "ReGrowth Weather Rebalance Patch"?
I ask because I had that mod bookmarked, but it suddenly disappeared without a trace...

Updated to 1.4! No changes other than removing the incompatible message. Still works the same. :)

Hello, will this mod be updated to 1.4 ? Thanks !

Yeah, unfortunately the Strip function in RimPy just is not reliable. Everything else in the program is great but I've had so many issues with stripping that it's not worth risking.

Not sure we can do anything about that. RimPy is closed source, lacks documentation on functionality, and has multiple open issues on github regarding the strip function removing things it should not. I have no information and cannot reverse engineer it myself. Feel free to submit a bug report to the RimPy github though.

stripping this mod in RimPy removes the 1.3 folder and disables all the patches (at least it does this for me, thought i'd let you guys know)

Thank you for the mod. Every time a monsoon occurs I have use dev mode to change it. It's painful to watch pawns slowly crawling to the dining room who are gonna have a mental break due to being "extremely wet".

Thank you, finally someone addressed this stuff. I kept getting frustrated last run by my pawns failing tasks constantly due to weather, so I was gonna drop Regrowth for thsi run. Not any more!!
